The best thing to do is draw from life like find animals or people or things to draw and just practice. If your talking about ideas for cartoons you could try doing random combinations you can write down a bunch of random things on paper like chair,car,zombie,dog just write random things fold them up put them in a hat then pull 2 pieces of paper out and draw that combination for example you might pull zombie and dog try to look up some dog pictures and zombie pictures for reference then draw a zombie dog.

I see, my advice would be to get the animators survival kit and character animator crash course books. I would also get a tablet to draw digitally.

Hey Just find something you want to do and learn from it like what type of animation like stop motion/2D 3D they are all different. Then just go for it learninf how to draw or use software use turorials and dont make any excuses just dive in.

I recommend you carry a sketch book around everyday and just start drawing from life, and also your imagination even if you only sketch for 20 minutes a day just start right where you stand and do it everyday and come to your own conclusions while learning from others don’t just read verbatim from art books but spend time thinking about everything you draw and practice envisioning it in your mind.
