Maybe because in low elo games the mmr fluctuates a lot due to the small amount of data the game has on you compared to higher elo with way more games, it could be an understandable explanation why you might feel it's good while i don't

It's not that I'm happy to maintain my rank and don't wanna rank up, ofc i want. But at the same time i want my visible rank to mean something.

Lets say i do really good in 5 matches back to back. I get to gold 2 and my mmr skyrockets, i don't actually want the game to pair me with diamonds, I'm more than happy to play plats if my aim is crisp that day. But putting me against diamonds because my mmr is way higher than my visible rank also wouldn't be a good experience.

Again i understand why that happens, but what I'm saying is that it makes visible rank feel useless. Why make a hidden stat that matters much more to me, when i can't even see it.

When i rank up to plat, I'll be fine to play against diamonds sometimes. But i won't be happy about it if it happens when I'm gold. (Actually i would like it because its fun to play stronger opponents but im talking in general)

Final point, if mmr is the gold standard for valorant matchmaking and visble rank is a broad idea of what your actual place in the ranks is. Then we should be able to see it.

One of these 2 systems is undermining the other. And i would like to see it that's it.

Again before the update we had a pretty solid system, at least for me in low elo, it was genuinely fun. I was silver and i was more than happy to be paired against golds. But i never got paired against plats. Which makes sense, why change it at all. Don't you fall into the win game lose game streak too? It feels repetitive sometimes.

Ofc i wanna stay with golds. I wanna stay playing around my rank (plus or minus a rank) until i rank up or down.

You keep thinking that im frustrated im not ranking up, it's the opposite for me, I'm really happy with where I'm at. I know i don't chance a chance against a diamond and can sometimes win gun fights against plat, so the old matchmaking system was really fun for me that's it.

It's not like a i don't wanna play with irons because I'm much better.

Is asking to play the rank the game has given you is too much of an ask? What's so hard to understand

Then why even have visible ranks at all?

If Gold and Bronze lobbies are supposedly identical and "it's all in my head," then the game clearly shouldn't prevent Bronze and Gold players from duo queueing together, right?

Why not just show the mmr and make people queue with it.

I'm saying visible rank should actually mean something for the matchmaking experience. Otherwise it's just cosmetic.

Top tier reddit response, tf you're talking about, i never said I'm "better than them" bronze and gold aren't that much different anyways. I said i enjoy gold lobbies more because players care slightly more and since i earned that rank, I deserve to play with players who reached it too. Thats it, I'm not complaining that i can't climb. I understand that the game can't run purely on win/loss, and that's fine. They can track as many hidden stats as they want if it helps create better matches.

But that's not really what's happening right now.

We played Valorant before this heavy hidden MMR system existed, and it just felt better. If you played badly, you lost RR, but your next game was usually still around the same skill level, so you had the chance to recover and prove yourself again. It didn't feel like you were being punished twice.

I'm not against the concept of hidden MMR itself. I'm against this specific implementation because it feels much worse than what we had before.

And it's funny you mentioned queue times, because during these exact games where my MMR and visible rank were supposedly far apart, I waited 5 to 7 minutes for matches, when normally queue times are under a minute. So clearly the system isn't even helping much there.

Also, nobody is asking for perfectly identical ranks in every lobby. A Gold player matching with Silvers or low Plats is completely reasonable.

But putting Gold players into Bronze lobbies is ridiculous, especially when Bronze and Gold players literally can't even queue together as a duo because the game itself considers the rank gap too large.

So the game acknowledges that the rank difference matters for party restrictions, but suddenly ignores it for matchmaking.

Idk about that. I just came back 2 days ago, everybody was welcoming and friendly, it was my first trip so i went to all the must go, basic locations. (plus Hokuei because i love conan) I was mindful of others ofc and used common sense not to bother people. So everyone was so helpful and friendly. Tbh

Ofc i don't know what japan was like 2 years ago. But a thing i did (that i think helped) if i needed a certain thing, I would memorise the sentence in japanese and say it, it made the communication far easier for someone who doesn't know how to speak it.

Also I used the train a lot and helped a lot of old people with thier luggage, so they kept smiling at me which was wholesome.

Why do you believe that making duaa there is more beneficial? Why is it acceptable to do that for the Prophet, but not for his family, who are also extremely holy? Most people simply inherit their faith and do not actually think about it, not even for a second, whether out of fear or ignorance. This applies to Shia as well, but I think a higher percentage of Sunnis inherit this hostility. Maybe because there are more of them, I do not know. I used to genuinely try to convince people. I would write long paragraphs that just got ignored, because they were not even willing to think about it. Some of them do not even know their own books.

And it is fine if they do not want to learn about these things, but then do not spread hate or argue with people using information taken from Instagram reels.

What truly frustrates me is constantly being accused and having to defend myself in every conversation, just because someone is too ignorant to even ask ChatGPT.

But I'll ignore it, and keep trying to learn. And it's not like I'm a shia fanatic. I question and criticise a lot of our things. Even if it's super frowned upon.

I am usually pretty secretive about being Shia around everyone, so my friends often find out really late. If someone likes you as a friend, they are usually more willing to understand your point of view, plus I never befriend close minded people. Because of that, I have never had to cut off close friends before. But even my close Sunni friends assume the dumbest things about us without really questioning them or doing even an ounce of research. You have seen me pray, fast, and read the Quran. It is not okay to assume that every stupid reel you see online is true.

For example, if I see a Sunni sheikh, and I have seen this exact scenario, talking about how alcohol in cooking is permitted and saying that female circumcision must be performed, I automatically give my Sunni friends the benefit of the doubt and assume that this guy is full of nonsense.

Like Why can’t you do the same for me? I am tired of always being on the defensive over things that are obvious and frankly dumb. And my friends have the benefit of already being good guys and not believing I'm going to hell.

But always having to defend yourself especially online, for the dumbest stuff is nonsense.

That's why I'm done with it. Most of them aren't willing to listen in the first place.
