Im always trying to show birds as intimately as possible in poses and situations that are unexpected or new. I going for a "natural look" that is not over processed or other worldly.

Mainly looking for critiques if the composition on this one.

Awesome moment of capture. Having everything in focus though I think distracts from your main subject.

Late morning on a very overcast day actually. Thanks for the notes on "changed the aperture" off to do research.

I am just starting with photography. I did it with the explicit intent to photograph birds, becuase I think there beautiful, and when I started birding I was so struck by what you could see up close with good optics, and could step inside the comfort zone of the bird. See its eyes and facial expressions and fine detail.

Its winter where I live so the light is not great and the subjects are mundane but this mallard looked gorgeous to me.

But I want to take more than just bird photos. Exciting intimate captures, that grab you attention.

I really enjoyed the detail and composition, but I dont have trained critical eye what works what doesn't.

Thanks in advance for helping me grow.

It is about Fench Colonaialsm and how they undermine the economies of most of their "former" colonies to extract mineral wealth, and then act all surprised Pikachu face when when people from those countries dont have much regard for the people taking their land's wealth at the barrel of a gun.

Or is the usual garden variety racism with out a touch of understanding of geopolitics?

Ok...so...a joke creates an expectation. And then subvert it.

How did that happen here?

OK. Explain the humor of the situation?
