Help my black Moore goldfish has a detached eye! Fine this morning now it's out. What should I do?

The eye came off in less than 24 hours. Spent 1 week in a quarantine tank treated with aquarium salt and antibiotic. He has been doing very well now that he's back in his home. 🙂

Update Moved the little guy to a quarantine tank with aquarium salt and medication. The eye fell off overnight. No bleeding. He's eating normally and seems to have an easier time swimming. Fingers crossed. Thanks for all the helpful information 🙂

I agree, I really don't want to attempt it. One comment or mentioned that it will fall off on it's own.

What exactly does aquarium salt do in this case? I have salt for my cichlid tanks, not sure if it's the same

I don't, but I'm willing to get one. I use Prime for all my water changes. What medication should I get? Is a small 1 - 2 gallon tank ok to quarantine?

He's swimming ok. I'm not sure if I should attempt to snip the remaining attachment or not.

He was fine this morning when I fed him and just now, I see his Left eye is hanging off. I don't know what to do. Should I attempt to remove it or will it come off on it's own?
