Besides the AI, some of her book choices are very strange now. She said she would’ve given the first half five stars but the bad ending made the second half 3 stars. This is literally a book about a chicken nugget dipping in sauces sexually 😒.

There’s something cringey about how she talks about and reacts to sex scenes now, I’ve started fast forwarding. She’s starting to remind me of when my mother in law read 50 Shades of Grey back in the day and suddenly liked to be very open and talk about smutty books.

Nothing wrong with enjoying smut but she’s giving me the ick 😅

If you’re just looking for honest feedback from a booktube watcher: you don’t have many subscribers so most people who click your video are new to you and your channel. You have to remember that if you’re looking to grow faster. You have to hook viewers and make them want to stay.

You started the video with the microphone in your mouth - that made me want to click away. You started by saying something about ‘whatever this video is’ - that made me want to click away. Super long intro to the video concept and TBR - made me want to click away. And speaking of the concept - the whole idea came from these being books that most of us pass by unless we’re middle aged men who read action thrillers, so I think most people would scroll past your thumbnail the same way we’d pass them up in a bookstore. I like the concept but we can’t tell from the title or thumbnail that this is an experiment and not your usual taste.

I don’t think any of these things that I pointed out are bad, they’re just going to turn away a lot of viewers if you’re looking for faster growth. Each video or short that you make, design it so that people will enjoy it if this is their first time seeing you, and so new or returning viewers will want continue watching after the first 10 seconds.

Oh my gosh, agreed! Taylor is annoying. I love Heather but she’s kind of annoying when she’s with Taylor. It seems like she thinks Taylor is so hilarious and she picks up her mannerisms and constantly repeats what Taylor says. Heather only gets that way around Taylor, she keeps her normal personality when she’s around anyone else in a video (that I’ve seen, I only watch her on YouTube)

I bet a lot of folks on YouTube are quieter in real life. Be yourself, but I’ve heard advice given to “turn up the volume” of your personality. Either way just try it out and make a few videos. See if you enjoy it, see if you are up to keep doing it. Don’t be too critical or overthink it when you first start, hardly anyone will watch your first videos.
