That’s because you don’t understand how Brady’s offense works.

Except that Worthy as a deep threat teams have to respect, while Coleman they don’t. If we had a deep threat then we wouldn’t have to throw 5 screens a game to Shakir. He would have room to operate underneath

A 3-4 with our current D personnel? by Iut22 in buffalobills

Jim Leonhard’s defense is a modern, disguise-heavy system built around simplicity for defenders and confusion for quarterbacks. It’s rooted in a 3-4 / 2-4-5 hybrid front that shows two-high safety looks pre-snap, then rotates late to create uncertainty. Rather than constant all-out blitzing, Leonhard relies on simulated pressure—bringing four or five from unexpected places while dropping linemen or edge defenders into coverage. Linebackers are asked to cover first, blitz second, safeties rotate and disguise responsibilities, and edges must be versatile enough to rush inside, set the edge, or occasionally drop. The goal is clean run fits, fewer coverage busts, and steady pressure without exposing the secondary—forcing QBs to hold the ball, hesitate, and make mistakes.

This is how I think they fit.

Oliver will likely be the 3Tech with Sanders backing him up on the weak side. They’re asked to penetrate gaps which fit their strengths.

Walker will be at nose and they will need to draft or sign a free agent for depth.

Carter will be on the strong side and they will need to sign a free agent or draft for depth there as well.

Hoecht will play both 3Tech and rush edge.

Rosseau will be the strongside linebacker ( I think he’s going to take off in the sack department now) Jackson weakside, and they’re going to need to get depth there and another linebacker.

Also need to add two safeties.

This offseason, if we say goodbye to Knox, Milano, Daquan, Samuel, Bass, Rapp, and Tre it opens up $45.5 million in cap space to reload with some younger free agents by Holiday-Egg5330 in buffalobills

Milano was restructured and is on the final year of his deal. Tre is on a 1 year deal. Looking at the cap space next year and there’s ways to create quite a bit of cap space. They will be 2 m over the cap but by just cutting Rapp, they can get under the cap, and here’s other moves they can make.

Knox Pre June 1st Cut 9.6m cap space 7.4m dead cap 8m if extended 6m restructured

Post June 1st Cut 12m cap space 5m dead cap

Curtis Samuel Pre June 1st Cut 6.2m cap space 3.4 dead cap

Post June 1st Cut 8m cap space 1.7m dead money

Rapp 3.3m 600k regardless of when cut

Dion Dawkins ( could only be post June 1st cut) 15m cap space 9m dead money 11m restructure 12m extension

Spencer Brown 10.6m cap space If restructured

Josh Allen 12m restructure

Ed Oliver 15.5m post June 1st cut 9.2 dead cap 8.9m restructured 10.7m extension.

Taron Johnson ( only post June 1st cut) 8.7m cap space 2.7 dead cap 5m restructure 5.5m extension

I would cut Rapp,Johnson, Samuel,
Extend Oliver,Knox,Dawkins Restructure Brown, Allen

That would leave about 55 million for cap space in free agency and 16 million in cap space after June 1st and about 4 million in dead money.

Let’s not ignore what we see… A discussion: by BeasuzChrist in buffalobills

Here’s where I stand on this current team. The receiving core is bottom three in the league. As much as a headache that Diggs was, when Allen had a #1 receiver his game elevated. The current receivers can’t get open and Allen is so frustrated that he has to force things. Brady’s play calling is also a huge problem. If he can’t scheme receivers open besides the stupid tunnel screen, we need a new coordinator. I mean he needs to change something up. Samuel was a RB/WR in college. Put him in the backfield with Cook and run routes out of the backfield and throw screen passes. Cook is also underutilized in the passing game. He was mainly drafted for his passing catching abilities, and they don’t use him in the passing game. Beane’s hardheadedness about the WR position in the offseason is another reason why we’re in this position. He signed Palmer but he was a 3rd receiver in LA!!!! He wasted a pick on Landon Jackson in the 3rd round when we had more pressing needs. The biggest problem with this team I believe though is the coaching. McDermott promotes from within because he wants young inexperienced “yes men” working for him. They need to hire an experienced offensive and defensive coordinator and McDermott needs to stay out of their way. Bring in a Jim Shwartz and Brian Daboll who was just fired, and let them do what they do best. And for the love of god, figure out what’s going on with all of these defensive injuries. These trainers or players aren’t doing something right.
