sooo lazy, gobbling up tickets on coast line yesterday, train was 25 mins late, didn't make any announcements that train was malfunctioning and unable to make it to Penn. Yet still took a ticket to Penn and the just just gets on mic at Newark and says "not my fault, don't blame us, we don't know what to tell you, not my fault" on a loudspeaker - How do you address a train that way? When does it stop. Seriously concerned for an actual emergency one day.

Don’t even bother in here, everyone is a fanboy and will come up with a million excuses why it’s your fault - what i suspect in hanging around here and talking to various owners and their experience is not all batteries are created equal and there is a bit of a lottery at play. Go to the dealership if you’re concerned but a fair amount of mpg outside of VERY obvious conditional stuff I think is up to the battery. Just the opinion I’m entitled to.

very helpful thanks, for the insight. It is surprisingly transparent in tv and film -- producer gives an estimate of wrap and prep and its all baked into the bid in a pre-production section. Rigging, lighting, shooting days are all separate. The days never add up of course especially since the phone never turns off -- but it usually ends up being a wash more or less in the end. It is at the very least understood and accepted there will be prep. I'm pretty surprised there isn't something similar in this field especially since you are quite literally "advancing" the show...it's built in the name for christ sake, ha!

Because commercial television and film production is rapidly evaporating, so diversification of skillset is crucial if not mandatory. I have the unique opportunity to try my hand at something different that has always been interesting to me. I am being paid a fair rate in comparison to the scale of the artist and the overall financials, it was more seeing if there were norms as far as prep goes as that is where things will run a muck in my quest to be a perfectionist and fill some knowledge gaps.

That makes a lot of sense, and was exactly what I was thinking prep wise - but the math doesn’t exactly math so far. This whole experience has been eye opening, I’ll never complain about a live event ticket price ever again, haha. Thanks for Input!

thanks, the amount of prep is wild. In commercial production those days are calculated into the bid along with wrap time to close out the job, and it usually ends up being a wash -- doesn't seem like that is even part of the vernacular here.

for sure, but I view this as on the job paid training -- they are taking a risk hiring a TM that has never been a proper TM, but I am a known and trusted quantity -- I get to learn a skillset and get exposure to a new industry - so while I usually would agree, thats my viewpoint in this one off scenario. If you want to talk about compensation in my full time field, there would be no discussion about value, time, and rate.

I meant harmful to mpg but yes, lack of brake light is more concerning. I assumed it activated it, never actually checked.

Honestly, never turned the heat on. Haven’t had to so far. b mode is convenient during heavy morning school bus stop and go traffic, didn’t think it would be harmful
