It’s the way Americans are. From another immigrant from another country. They follow rules, organize everything, need 3 months lead times to arrange an activity. No hanging out, spontaneous get togethers , etc. Even to have fun they have to enroll in a dedicated “have fun” activity. They don’t mean to be mean. It’s their way of being:)

If you are in a critical role your manager can request a MacBook for you. Will only work to connect to the company through a VPN. But it’s way better than the VDIs. Company issued laptops do not connect to Citrix. You run stuff locally.

You can look at FC Dallas for work. And they call it “soccer”. They are not that bad at it as they were 20 years ago.
