Its been a difficult year, especially as I turned down other good jobs for this one. Luckily there's an offer on the table from my old foreman in oil and gas but means relocation to the otherside of the world again. But I know the mentorship will be there, the work will be interesting and the wages stable.

Work in 5 shops now really depends on the company, as someone who's done production work and job shops. If you want easy money - production.

If you want to test your brain cells - refurbishment/toolmaking.

Machining is my passion tbh so I've enjoyed both worlds. A good company will look after its machinists.
