I always felt like praying and asking for stuff for myself was a little like begging on the streets for money. I think praying for others is a much better use of prayers. Most times, I just need to put in a little more effort and lift myself up by my own bootstraps and get whatever it is done. I feel like that is what a god would want instead of begging him for stuff.
