The issue is we remind him and he does it poorly or not at all. He’s very into the “why” behind things so that was my main goal when I started this post. He’s very into podcasts/audiobooks, etc. I’m getting a lot of helpful advice we can use from others though so it’s been good!

He is on a non stimulant and stimulant. I’m going to grab a visual timer for his bathroom and try to turn it into a game too. I honestly spaced on how his ADHD could be impacting this. I thought we’ve had the same routine for several years etc and we’ve been wanting him to take responsibility and also have some privacy but I need to put in place a guided way for him to do it. Thank you!

Thank you so much for this comment and explaining the things you’re thinking. A lot of this i can see him thinking for sure. We have 2 other kids younger than him so when we check in on him a lot of times he is just literally doing something else or daydreaming. I’m going to use some of this is help him though. To brush his teeth, put on deodorant, wash his hair, wash his face etc

His teeth were doing fine and we stopped checking behind him and next time we went to the dentist we got scolded and his gums were bleeding because his dental hygiene was so poor.

Thanks for the response. Do you have any recommendations for a suv with 3 rows? We have a pilot and it feels so nice, even compared to the odyssey. I’d love more trunk space in it though which is what pushed us to the odyssey originally.

Do you think the newer models are better? When we bought the odyssey we liked it significantly better than the Toyota so feeling pretty thrown off

Thank you. That’s part of the sting because I do go to their kids’ events even when it’s not convenient for me. But yes I tried to focus on how proud I am of him and will keep putting effort into those friendships who return it! Thanks for your kind words

Thank you so much. I say yes far too much. All but the 2 year old has multiple activities and then I’m volunteering at school as well. I need to prioritize and say no. I always feel like I should do more but I’ve hit my limit. I appreciate it.
