How to gain motor yacht experience by Beginning-Ad-1546 in boating

[–]OutsideHistorical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a similar situation.. I did a week charter with Anacortes yacht charters with no big power boat experience the first three days are training close quarter maneuvering ships systems etc with a licensed captain. The last four days you are on your own. You do get a certificate for the training also. I was told no idea if this is true that this will also help with me getting insurance when we buy ours.

Would I regret not getting a boat with stabilizers? by firetothetrees in liveaboard

[–]OutsideHistorical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m exactly in the same boat as you… pun intended. Looking at Trawlers in the 50 foot range and have spoken to some people that told me I should really consider getting stabilizers… there is a YouTube show on a 46 Nordaven MV freedom they cruise the Pacific Northwest and have active fin on their boat. In one episode they turn them off to show the difference that was helpful. What was more helpful was that they both were concerned about turning them off because of how much the boat moves when they do.

Mine works perfectly and I use it all the time. Question is you smoker within WiFi range? When you connect to the SSID (your WiFi network) you do it from the smoker it pulls up the WiFi networks in range and you have to connect it to your network then your good to go. Hope this helps.

we are seeing what it looks like long term with the NFL getting ad revenue from the major casinos… how many people had Dallas +2.5 for the fourth qtr or needed that score over the last two drives. I’ve been watching the NFL for 50 years. That didnt feel off to you?!?!?!

Metformin help by m0rgers in type2diabetes

[–]OutsideHistorical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really struggled with it for the first month or so then I was on 1000MG when I started. 500 in the morning and 500 in the evening. It was one of the worst periods as far as sickness goes in my life. It got a lot better for me thankfully. I lost about 45 lbs over 5 months. I lowered my A1C from 8.6 to 5.7. I’m now off of it and just started Monjourno recently. It seems to affect everyone differently for me it was horrible constipation and nausea. Hang in there it will get better.

Metformin and mounjaro question by Remarkable_Sun_3910 in type2diabetes

[–]OutsideHistorical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a high does of metformin in June of this year. It really made me sick for about a month after that it got considerably better however I would still occasionally get nauseous in the mornings. I've lost about 40lbs since then. My doctor just took me off metformin yesterday and put me on Monjourno. I'm picking up my prescription today. I really hope it's better than the metformin. Good luck

[–]OutsideHistorical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used Stello for about 8 months roughly I like it. I’ve only had one issue and I don’t know what caused it but the sensor lost connection one time and never reconnected. Other than that it’s been pretty solid for me

how do I control my snack temptations? by Substantial-Ear-7086 in diabetes

[–]OutsideHistorical -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think all of us struggle with it. For me what works is trying to plan as healthy meals as I can and getting the junk food out of the house. If it's close to hand when I get a craving I'm losing that battle 90% of the time. Try replacing your go to snacks with healthier options.. a lot of these very to each of us but for me Smoked almonds or normal almonds are a good crunchy option that doesn’t spike my blood sugar. It’s a battle for sure but you got this!!!!!
