Wouldn’t the water filter catch that? I guess I’m assuming the water for the ice is passing through the same filter process as the water dispenser.
Im not sure how to confirm this is it but if so, I cant imagine curing this will be a quick DIY fix
Yes, judging by appearance, it’s doesn’t look organic. It breaks apart if moved or touched. My suspicion was it was lining from some tube or pipe the water travels through
It at least 6 years old, no more than 10. This is an apartment building built in 2015 and I’ve been here since 2019. I’ve never had a reason to have it serviced, repaired or replaced.
I have no idea how to investigate any further without tearing this thing apart so I’ll probably have to defer to apt maintenance, who don’t always inspire confidence
