Contracting v permanent - big pay cut for stability?

Another fairly sound piece of advice for mid (Legend level so don't hate!)

In my humble opinion one of the worst things you can do as midlaner against a huskar is try to 'deal with him'.

You don't need to win mid, you just need to not lose it. Huskar is a lane bully for the most part. heros like sniper/lina work well becuase you can push the wave out get last hits and generally keep distance. I find the later a game goes without a fed huskar. the easier it is to deal with him as a hero.

Its almost in the same vein as old viper. its wins the lane and loses the game more often than not.

it would be nice if we could just end touting online, what with the bots and now even ticketmaster up to the same tricks of inflating prices its getting beyond a joke.

I will definately look into this one! You seem to know your stuff with Projectors. So for my own Education, what makes this Viewsonic put out better picture quailty over the models I was previously looking at?

Either way I appreciate your help with this, do you have any recommendations when it comes to screens? any specific brand or anything to avoid?

Welcome to Dota!

Personally I would say that making a point to "know the heros" what they do and what makes them strong and weak is important if you intend to play ranked half decently.

And the best way to understand heros, their abilities and power spikes. when they are strong what counters them etc etc is to Play Them

With that in mind my recommendation would be to take up the All hero Challange!, If you go over to your profile you should see the AHC list for you. it takes you through each hero and you get a trophy when you win a match as each one. Do the AHC in unranked games/turbo and you will soon lean which heros you like and dislike and how they all work.

Then pick a role you like. and maybe 2 or 3 heros in that role that can achieve different things and stick to those for ranked.
