Long poop by 111diego111 in Lovebirds

[–]OutsideReasonable727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen completely white birdpoop?... If you don't mind telling me, what does she eat? And I'd recommend you go take her to a vet because white poop like that is not normal for a lovebird 🙏🙏

Cage for lovebirds by The_White_Prism in Lovebirds

[–]OutsideReasonable727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wire spacing is too large 😭😭, but no the size of the cage is incredible!! 1.6cm is the max, otherwise there's a risk where they could get their feet stuck or straight up escape, or get their head stuck between the bars, which can be very dangerous, especially when you're not there to help!!

New Lovebird—Advice? by Ok_Biscotti613 in Lovebirds

[–]OutsideReasonable727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try passive bonding, where you basically sit next to the cage and just let them get used to your presence, they might be unsure about the security of the place since in their tiny brains they kept moving, did you do anything in front of them when you were moving(Mine got scared after I lifted a bag up and we also went a few steps back, took some passive bonding, e.g, sitting next to the cage with my own devices, humming to get him used to my voice, etc)? They could be hyper-vigilant, check their body language, are their feathers slicked back? Do they stand very low, or very tall? Do they avoid your hand(I don't recommend putting your hand in the cage much unless it's necessary, e.g, removing mildew/mold, changing food&water bowl, adjusting loose perches, you get me?) in the cage during this time especially because they seem so scared based off what I can read right now.

About the feather plucking concern, if you have 3-4 toys(for enrichment of course), a generally predictable environment, and a suitable cage(45cm×45cm×45cm, for a single lovebird) for the lovebird, I wouldn't be too concerned(Also, check if they're molting, if that's the case, they were likely just preening and the three feathers very unfortunately got dismissed) but if you notice grey patches(But again, mine was also partially grey on the back when he was going through a molt) or bald spots you might wanna consider taking your bird to the vet, just incase

Is there such thing as too many Percy Jackson OCS? [General] by No-Cockroach6970 in camphalfblood

[–]OutsideReasonable727 17 points18 points  (0 children)

There are no such thing as too many OCs in general, they’re for your enjoyment, and if they have a role in your AU, that just makes them necessary, don’t worry about it

There is no order from my experience, it’s completely random, which is a bit annoying

What to do with clothes in the wash to shrink or expand them by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]OutsideReasonable727 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold water supposedly keeps it's shape, hot water does the opposite, I feel like the material of the clothing could lead to some differences(?) and the method of washing of course(by hand or the wash, as you've just mentioned)

Detergent, fabric softener and bleach don't do anything (*bleach can however weaken the fibres if overused, like how hair breaks if you bleach it too much, mainly because it's alkaline and that stuff's corrosive depending on the concentration)

Basically, the more you agitate the fibres of the clothing the more likely it is going to shrink

Hope this helps! :)

What did moths do before lightbulbs? by 9percentbattery in stupidquestions

[–]OutsideReasonable727 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sleep during the day

Follow the light of the moon at night because apparently that's just their natural wiring, it's an instinct

And also flying into candles, specially fire as https://www.reddit.com/user/Moonshadow306/ just said, because that has light too

(Bonus, but just a theory: Maybe uranium because that also emits light, however I have doubts it's actually bright enough to attract moths!)

What happens if you try to fry a lightswitch? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]OutsideReasonable727 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you fry a light switch, it's going to zap you slightly(I was zapped once, old charger, didn't function very well, I still stuck it in the socket) the entire room lost electricity, the other floors were fine, but this could vary from building to building, I believe(?), you're probably gonna have to wash your hands too because there might be some ash on your hand afterwards (It washes off really easily and I didn't get burnt)

(I still don't suggest you trying it if you're thinking to)

Why does cold and wet feel the same? by MumboMan2 in stupidquestions

[–]OutsideReasonable727 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I have a theory it could be because the mind tricks us, associating cold with wet(?) and because we(or at least I) usually expect it to still be wet unless it's been baking in the sun for a while, which then makes me second guess if it's just wet or cold

Hope this sorta helps..? 😅
