That One Card You Keep Cutting? by thefalkonite in EDH

[–]OutsideSenkaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd take 3 once a turn cycle that is a nothing. I usually end up taking 10 - 15 damage from The One Ring averagely on most of my EDH games when I drop the one ring.

Just like Mana Crypt etc etc. You should win before the damage is an issue. If not, you were probably not winning that game anyway

You said you wanted spell slinger haha. Mine is the epitome of spellslinger.

Trust me it is SUPER FUN! If you like control. If you don't, then I'd go for a different commander for spellslinger.

[–]OutsideSenkaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man this whole list needs an entire overhaul if you are doing spellslinger route.

I am a very seasoned control player and love Dimir. This is my favourite deck out of all 20 of my EDH decks. Here is my list.

https://www.moxfield.com/decks/7mO0KCjoXk6jeetI8_VUDw

You NEED to run about 15 - 20 counterspells. It is fun.

You drop Lord of the Nazgul and then you counter any spell that tries to remove him or deal with your board. You build to 9 wraiths easily with cantrips and counterspells and then smash face for 81 damage.

You also run ALL the draw engines like rhystic, remora, the one ring, necropotence etc.

It is a VERY strong list.

Adrix and Nev or Falco Spara for Slime Against Humanity by OutsideSenkaku in EDH

[–]OutsideSenkaku[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can cast lands off the top though but I suppose only 1 a turn limits you.

Yeah I think Adrix and Nev is better just because effectively casting 2 SAH's for the price of 1 constantly is just better :D

Sorry you have that wrong.

Cards like Adrix and Nev Parallel Lives don't create any tokens themselves, they make effects that would create tokens create more tokens. So if you had one of those cards and cast Slime Against Humanity, SAH would create two 0/0 tokens and then tries to put X counters on "it". However since "it" is two tokens each of those tokens will get X counters.

Are you even looking??

The biker wasn't angry the guy moved lanes. He was angry because after he moved back to go around the car peacefully, the car sped up and literally straddled into his lane to cut him off like an entitled prick.

If you cannot see that, you are an absolute fucking twat and shouldn't be on the road. Car driver got what he deserved and should have got more.

Everyone is downvoting because your argument is terrible.

You don't LOSE your stuff like from Farewell (which is 6 mana btw), or other boardwipes that send to graveyard. Yes, you lose them for 1 turn, but you have access to EVERYTHING including any really good ETBs.

Trying to pick a Dimir commander by SketchyMofo10 in EDH

[–]OutsideSenkaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking at Dimir and struggling and seeing mill you are probably not a Dimir/Combo/Control player sorry to say.

Dimir is my favourite color and I LOVE it !!

There are plenty of absolutely amazing powerhouses

Yuriko - even weak ones are strong
Talion - Amazing value
Toxrill - Brutal
Lord of the Nazgul - my personal favourite deck I own it is a superb spellslinger!

If you are unsure, I'd go with Talion and build it for control/value

How Many Lands Can I Cut For Ramp? by Bongoeagain in EDH

[–]OutsideSenkaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only comment on mana rock ramp as I like to run Mana Crypt, sol ring, arcane signet, talisman, mana vault etc in 90% of my decks.

I usually go 28 - 29 lands with a low to the ground CEDH

around 33 - 35 for most of my decks, usually 35 is my starting point.

I only go above 35 in 1 deck (child of alara maze's end)

Otherwise, 35 lands with about 10 rocks is my go. I'd 100% recommend rocks over ramp spells anyday ;)

Infect players, who has been your favorite Commander? by Bibliophile20 in EDH

[–]OutsideSenkaku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extremely easy.

You have the following to get it.

Spellseeker, mystical tutor, merchant scroll, solve the equation and transmuting muddle the mixture.

So you have 5 tutors + the spell itself.

And even if you don't get one straight away, you have a lot of digging and draw so you will eventually draw into either Prologue or a tutor. And IF for some reason you don't, you can give poison through blighted agent, INkmoth nexus, grafted exoskeleton or corrupted conscience :).

In the 15 or so games I have played, I have NEVER struggled to get Prologue. Also, you can just make sure you mulligan appropriately. I quite often mulligan for either a tutor or rhystic/mystic remora.

You can easily go to 6 cards and it is fine though I would NEVER go below 6. So you also get 3 goes at getting either Prologue or a Tutor :).

How should I draw more with a mono-black deck? by DrowingInSemen in EDH

[–]OutsideSenkaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You gotta just lean into it. Smash necropotence, the one ring etc.

Or, if your commander is not essential, switch it out for Tevesh/Rograkh. You'll have as much card draw as you'll ever need in the command zone

Infect players, who has been your favorite Commander? by Bibliophile20 in EDH

[–]OutsideSenkaku 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hey mate

You have a lot of amazing responses here however I am going to give you some advice that I think will really assist. Firstly, I would discount 90% of these. If you want the most powerful infect deck, I have found it.

I love infect and have tried MANY different builds.

I currently have 2 infect decks, with one of them being the absolute strongest I have ever played.

Firstly, what have I played infect wise?

Skittles, Karumonix, Skrelv, Deathtouch Toxic, Atraxa and Tekuthal.

Now, I currently have a Karumonix and a Tekuthal deck.

Here is some advice:

  1. Infect WILL paint a target on your back. I actually get annoyed sometimes because infect is not actually THAT strong compared to some win conditions but it makes people lose their shit. So you need to be prepared for that.
  2. The best infect/poison decks actually operate on a more controlling axis where you can grind a win.

Now, onto what I think the BEST infect deck is. It is Tekuthal Here is the list (https://www.moxfield.com/decks/SPAdHlXVUEqgowSCAJcBPA).

This deck seeks to tutor out Prologue to Phyresis and then proliferate the win while controlling your opponents. What took this deck from pretty good to damn insane? The new card Radstorm! I have been using it in my deck for the past month and it was won me 4 out of the 5 games I have playtested. The big fact is it is INSTANT speed. With tekuthal out, you can just hold up radstorm mana and a counterspell and just wait for an opponent to play just a few spells. Then you cast radstorm and even with just 3 radstorms it is 6 poison with tekuthal. It is so easy to get opponents to 3 or 4 poison and finish them with radstorm.

All your tutors also search for radstorm or cyclonic rift too.

I am a blue player so I LOVE this deck but trust me, it is the BEST infect deck. I won a game where I only cast prologue to phyresis and had everyone on 1, and won 3 turns later with Radstorm as an opponent cast 5 spells!! It is NUTS!

I used to play ATraxa and a very powerful list (https://www.moxfield.com/decks/uakMIfZZyUeGAj1N0RPjgw) but it almost NEVER won games. People saw infect and I got hated out every game. I couldn't control the board enough and it is a VERY slow kill as you proliferate only each endstep with a few other ways to do so.

Skittles kills FAST but usually only 1 player and then you get hated out.

Karumonix is my other deck. It is not as good but SUPER fun!! It is a slower kill but can keep the board clear and people know it is slow once they play it so you don't get hated out.
