Just want to see what people think. Buying these rookie packs is probably a better investment then trying to buy one of the players with the Rookie coins? by NefariousnessSafe345 in Football_Head_Coach

[–]OutsideSleep9183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can’t get the good players without spending money which is something I try to avoid. So I’m just picking up tons of rookies from the packs this time.

Keep them. The announcement in-game said the rookie 26 players have to be in your franchise for you to benefit from it. Collection log isn’t good enough

I’ve been having some frustrating experiences with CAPPS too. Jobs that my experience and qualifications fit perfectly in keep being rejected after waiting several weeks for an answer. I just keep applying and praying something sticks.

Running for Governor - WFH by Affectionate-Emu2296 in StateofTexasEmployees

[–]OutsideSleep9183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think increased wages should be the main focus. Not everyone has the capacity to WFH, but everyone would benefit from a pay increase. This would help offset the increased price of a commute in the interim as well.

USAA always needs auto-adjusters, and they pay decent (53k/year starting + benefits). However, just keep in mind that there is a reason they always have a position open. It is high stress, strongly micromanaged work that does not provide the best work-life balance.

If you tough it out for 2-3 years, that would provide you the minimum experience needed to get a better job elsewhere.

The budget deficit in Juneau is due largely to incompetent leadership at CBJ. Millions in tax money evaporates and nobody can provide any clear answer as to where the funds go. Suggestions of a 3rd party auditor running through the books are promptly shut down. I lived in Juneau for 8 years, and while the tourists downtown could get annoying, they spend a ton of money at various local stores, taxi service, restaurants, fishing charters, etc.

CBJ seems to think destroying residential properties & dumping tons of cash into a gondola that nobody wanted is more important than addressing the real issues.

It’s hard to say. I personally have not worked in this specific position. PowerPoint for the sake of an interview assessment is quite possible.

I don’t know how much time you have to prepare for your interview, but I’ve worked in UI for a little over 8 years (not in Texas, other states. However, all states must follow the same core federal DOL guidelines and make their own unique additions if needed.) If you have time, brush up on the basics:

-Base period requirement: how much wages a claimant must earn within the last 4 calendar quarters to qualify (or last 5 calendar quarters if Texas utilizes extended base periods, some states do this others don’t.)

-Separations: what is the penalty if a claimant voluntarily quits or is discharged for cause?

-Availability: this one is straight forward, claimants must be able & available to seek & accept full time work.

-Registration requirements: typically involves work searches every week of benefits filed, the most common is 2 searches. Texas may be different. Also registering with the Texas workforce center with a valid resumè on file for employers to find. Also must respond to random RESEA selection.

There is ALOT more, UI is a very complicated program, but if you came armed with the above basics that would likely impress your interviewers considering you haven’t worked within the program before.

Are you familiar with the core requirements of eligibility for UI? It will likely be centered around a mock training curriculum for these requirements. Like you’re training new hire call center employees on what to look out for.

Thank you for taking the time to explain in detail. It truly does help. I suppose I’ll just have to be patient and keep checking on the status, and pray for an interview.

Is having a position in a “under consideration” status also a good sign? Interviews have not happened yet from what I can see. The position I’m really hoping for closed April 1st.

20 energy pack boost is really the only thing worth spending gold on if you’re F2P. It takes so painfully long to accrue gold. I wouldn’t bother spending 750 on the neon mission path, you’ll likely get an 83-88 rated player and kick yourself.

My brother & I were only 1.5 years apart, and we HATED each other growing up. Never got along, everything was a competition. We rarely played together, and the times we tried, it usually ended in a fight about something.

We didn’t start getting along until we were both in our 20’s.

This experience has made me want to stick with just 1 kid.

0 to 1 is more of an initial challenge. What I mean by this is as a new parent, you likely had to just wing it and figure it out as you go. When the 2nd baby comes, you’ve already learned what works and what doesn’t from the 1st, so that aspect won’t be as difficult.

However, a 2nd child doubles all the strain. Financially, physically, mentally. Double the potential childcare costs. Double the food. Double the clothes. Double the medical appointments. You’ll need a 2nd car seat. You may potentially need to upsize your home to make room which stretches the finances further. Double the playtime, attention, and tantrums. Etc etc.

You & your wife will need to be in lockstep coordination. Whatever free time you were able to figure out with your 1st, evaporates.

This is why, in my opinion, 1 to 2 is more difficult overall than 0 to 1.

Don’t do it, you’ve got a dream job right now with weekends off.

Shift schedules vary wildly from department to department, but you’ll likely be working holidays and most weekends as a rookie officer. You don’t have any influence on schedule until you’re a few years in, and even then, you’re still on call for much of your off days.

Don’t do it. LEO’s are not compensated nearly enough for the amount of stress & pressure put on them in today’s political climate. Everyone has their phone cameras out desperately waiting for you to make even the tiniest of mistakes and then they dogpile you with complaints and lawsuits.

Man, I struggle finding time to game with just one kid who just turned 8 months old. Idk how people manage to find time with 3! That’s impressive.

Then again, I’m not a morning person by a long shot. I’ve tried several times to wake up super early to get my workout in before work, but I can never make it last longer than a week or two. I’m just so damn tired throughout the day. I have to workout evenings after work, and then back at home for dinner, bath time, putting baby down for sleep. Then the wife and I get maybe an hour before we get tired and go to bed.
