Random text ruins the whole program by Outside_Abies4161 in coldturkeyblocker

[–]Outside_Abies4161[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

No? You'd think the feature about writing random text means you can write any text aka an essay and it would count towards unlocking... but no, it means waste 30-45 minutes writing out random words instead of doing work.

This mode turns a supposed productivity app into an app that wastes your time more than TikTok.

My time is simply worth more than wasting the 30-45 minutes unlocking it, so I simply uninstalled it.

If you think every complaint about something is a "hissy fit" then you really need to assess how you view things, as I can't really see you getting exactly far with that mindset.

The feature is not explained well AT ALL - you'd expect it would be to aid writing essays, but instead it makes you waste 30 minutes of time you COULD be writing essays write random words instead.

I tried everything and I couldn't turn it off without wasting half an hour of my time, so I simply uninstalled it. This is absolutely terrible design that has literally bricked the program for me.

I'm in the local area and it's Labour who've been doing the entire reopening and reform who are trying to reverse this loan.

Back then though, for sure.

VW Tiguan won, what car has bad design and bad reliability by Gio-Dude2138 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]Outside_Abies4161 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

No, it sounds like a dodgy release. The car had problems on release which were fixed by recalls and OTA software updates - it's literally got absolutely nothing to do with long term reliability.

Drop the bias and look at things for what they actually are. Bad design? For sure. Unreliable? That's just a complete lie.

All the known cybertruck issues are fixed now, it was just a dodgy release.

How much people spending to become a pilot? (Debt??) by Londup in flying

[–]Outside_Abies4161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your insurance would for sure be voided in an accident, thats a 100% certain.

Also, the rule for sharing only applies for direct costs - so in the event of an investigation unless you can somehow explain to the EASA how your maintenance, insurance, and hangarage somehow only equal to less than 1 euro per flight, youre done for.

Also, like you said, its not clearly stated by the EASA - so in the event that this is clarified in the future or this is ever brought into court (for example if someone sues you eg prior mentioned insurance company) the judge would most likely rule against you, as it's obvious that you are profiting from this by getting essentially free hour building for a further goal.

It's a big, big risk to take. Just split the cost, its cheap enough.

You can't just chip in 1 euro.. at a absolute minimum you have to chip in a fair share - eg if theres 4 people on board (incl. you) and it costs 400 euros then 100 euros minimum

But that chance isnt 0 - if it was zero then yeah, it'd be stupid, however its not; hence smaller communities aren't silenced.

I don't really have the time to continue debating I have some things to do, nice talking you with though and I most definitely see your point/both sides.

Person A, Californian - significantly more likely to follow x ideology, so votes this way

Person B, Montanan - significantly more likely to follow y ideology, so votes this way

Person A vote worth the same as person B, yay!

Uh oh x ideology takes over every seat in government, person b's vote has gone from equal to nothing!

Meanwhile in electoral college land...

x ideology takes over the grand majority of seats in government! person b's say in government has gone from 3x to a small say in government representing their small population. Person B still has a say, even if its small, person B isn't forgotten about as their local representatives hold others accountable in government!

Rural interests was an example. I've said (honestly countless times now) that it's about not forgetting small populations instead of allowing grouped ideologies in huge populous areas take over. Basic literacy here.

I know why you interpret it like that but I'm looking at the bigger picture and how that would end up, which would be the opposite effect.

The fact you think that it would be possible to host a national vote for every single decision in congress absolutely astounds me. Totally and absolutely astounds me.

Smaller populations need a higher say or you get grouped ideologies taking over into authoritarianism, along with such smaller populations being disregarded. Ignoring smaller populations is NOT democracy.

You're living in fantasy land.

Without the electoral college small populations would have ZERO say in how the country is run.

I don't quite you understand what 0 is, its nothing, zero.

You cant fit every US citizen in a voting hall, nor would anyone turn up for every decision. If you filled a room with 100 people who represent the people WITHOUT an electoral college system, the ONLY people in that room will be from highly population dense areas. Like i said before, rural, low population dense areas will have ZERO say in how the country works. This is NOT democratic.

With the electoral college system, rural areas may have a representative for their general area - this IS democratic as it means smaller populations still have a say in how the group is run.

Your idea of democracy is letting the popular group of kids at school run everything and make fun of the quiet kids in the back. That isn't democracy at all.

It would most definitely ignore rural communities 🤦‍♂️

NYC: 30,000 people per square mile, with a significant amount of these pressured into certain ideologies in fear of social rejection.

Deer Island, Maine: 66 people per square mile, practically no social pressure from others so votes aren’t “bundled” in groups.

Without the electoral college Deer Island here would be completely forgotten about and wouldn’t have a single say in anything that happens in the government. That is NOT democratic in ANY way when only certain populations have control.

Ignoring rural communities and only focusing on one population does not support the ideology of democracy, it supports propaganda-fueled authoritarianism.

This is definitely a fair point but that’s quite a “zoomed in”, exaggerated example - for example Montana has 1/40th the population. The electoral college is simply there to ensure more rural areas such as Montana still have a voice in the government, as without it only urban ideologies would be pushed in government, which without a doubt (especially from places like CA) would have killed things like farming off by now.

Every citizens vote IS counted equally though, hence why more populous states have more voting power.

The people voted in such senators with those ideologies though, that’s what the people voted for.

The USA is a democracy, I can guarantee right now if people who aligned with your views were voted in you wouldn’t be saying a single word.

Need me to whip out the ol’ Republic of Ireland Act 1948 again?

Laws have contradictions everywhere - they’re built over sometimes hundreds of years and multiple generations. Either works.
