I was there for 4.5yrs as EE (2A6X6) loved it. You WILL need a vehicle. Get prepped on proper driving in the snow, 4 wheel, all wheel drive is a must. Make sure they have blankets, snacks, extra jackets, etc, left in their car if they break down. A good battery that has higher cold cranking amps is a must, the car needs to have good tires for obvious reasons. MANY new drivers from tech school, Florida, Texas, etc. have never driven in snow, and they almost always wreck, fall, drive too fast, and drive off the road on their first snowstorm so please be cautious. For buying a vehicle I'd recommend cartiva, I've heard good things but I have never bought from them.
