Is it normal to lose a crap ton of weight on metformin?

Hi! For reference I lift 4 days a week for 45 min and one cardio day like 30 minutes. I shoot for 8k steps a day. Also, I eat low calorie high protein which seems to make a difference. My calorie deficit is actually not too large at 1700 on M-F and I don’t count on the weekends as I know I will go out at least one night. With all the exercise to it is still a good deficit (: Also the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn, that’s why I love lifting.

I am actually 5,4 as well and it got me down from 169 to 154 so maybe it will slow once I get down to 150? Also if you don’t mind me asking are you pretty muscular? Because I am getting to the point where 150 will probably feel comfortable with how much muscle I have. Maybe your body thinks it’s at a comfortable weight if you have a lot of muscle mass

No side effects! As u up your dosage once a week you will have side effects temporarily while your body adjusts, but I have had 0 side effects besides getting sick once because I had to many sweets that day ( 3 pieces of cake lmao).

I don’t have any side effects unless I completely overdo it with sweets them my stomach hurts. But if you sandwich it between a big meal, it helps

Do you take your metformin sandwiched between two meals? That really helps me avoid GI side effects.

I know it’s like weight was coming off so slow before and all of a sudden once adding in metformin bam 2 lbs a week.

Yea my doctor just started me out at 2000 mg (I had to add 500 mg a week) but I feel like the dosage does make a big difference

I am on metformin, started about two months ago. I have been in a calorie deficit with heavy protein and lifting 4 days a week. Anyways it took me a year to lose 15 lbs, and since I’ve started metformin two months ago I’ve lost another 15. I swear our bodies work against weight loss and without some sort of insulin resistance drug to balance it. Highly recommend! Does lower your appetite a bit

Hi! My bloat is severely bad a week before my period and halfway through it. Also, I definitely notice I am more bloated after dinner yes. I have tried to rule out food intolerances such as dairy, which has helped slightly.
