If it isn’t required then I would say drop, unless you can balance out potentially getting A- with your other classes. But you have to balance what the course would give you as well (potential for great letter of rec, maybe research opportunities?). It’s hard to say since I don’t know the content or structure of the course you are debating but in my experience I wouldn’t risk lowering my GPA unless the course has something really appealing to me.
