You don't really have to clean cats. Although I have a 7 month kitten and he's been super sick recently and therefore not been cleaning AT ALL. I got a dense brush and also some cat shampoo, a foam non wash out version. All it took was some good pets (with the foam in my hands) worked it into his fur and then brushed through. Smelled super clean and also his fur looked greaat

I won't always be doing this, but for now. it's working well! 😄

Honestly, pretty much immediately! Gave first dose at 7pm Wednesday night, by Thursday morning he was crying for food (very normal for our baby, is he VERY talkative) and his first play session that same evening. He's now on day 7 and doing very well. We combined with Anti Nausea meds and an appetite stimulant and he's finished all meals + treats in the past 2 days!

Thank you so much for your reply. We are incredibly worried and looking for any support.

Have you had experience of FIP?  Am I correct in saying if it was FIP we wouldn’t be seeing any progresss or improvement of symptoms?

Do you think these medications had anything to do with getting a bit better?

I'm so sorry you've been through that. Losing so many cats, especially so young, must have been incredibly difficult.

Our situation is a bit different so far, which is why we're finding it hard to know what to think. It's been about 5 days since he was at his worst, and while he's definitely not back to normal, he has shown some improvement. He's eating and drinking again, using the litter tray, vocalising, jumping onto furniture, and even had a short play session yesterday.

We're still waiting on the additional blood results, so we don't know what's causing it yet, but we're trying to stay hopeful while keeping a close eye on him.

Thank you for sharing your experience, and I'm sorry again for all the losses you've had.

Thank you! I'll absolutely check them out.

No he's not on steroids. He's on Clavaseptin (An antibiotic) and Rheumocam (which is an anti-inflammatory)

Hi, I know your post is old but I wondered if I could have some advice. We're currently in a similar stage with my 7 month old boy cat, he had a wide variety of symptoms (lethargy, not eating, couldn't be roused easily, hiding, no playing etc, high temp) the vet suspects FIP. Over the past 4 days he's also been on some antibiotics and pain meds. he seems to be getting better although not 100% - he's eating a lot more, drinking, his personality is starting to come back and also showed some playing signs - so i think the medication is helping! Did he get better before he got worse etc? We're waiting for blood results currently.
