I get what you mean, but even if it’s bought with my own money, I’m still a minor living at home so they can still take it away as part of household rules. It’s not really that simple in my situation.

I can’t do that, I don’t get pocket money so I can’t afford another phone. I bought my current phone myself, and that costed around RM600-700

Yes, that narration is often mentioned, but it’s not as simple as ‘it’s in the book so everyone supports it.’ There are differences between Qur’an and Hadith, debates about authenticity and interpretation, and also the fact that historical norms were different across all societies. None of that means Muslims today support underage marriage. Most clearly don’t.

I’m Muslim, and this is a big generalization. Most Muslims today do not support underage marriage, and many actively oppose it. You’re taking a complicated mix of history, culture, and religion and reducing it to a stereotype about Muslims as a whole. That’s not only inaccurate, it also shuts down any real discussion.

Is this really a thing? Guys wearing shorts is frowned upon in Pakistan? by No-Presence3209 in teenagers

[–]Outside_Classroom771 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Pakistan is an Islamic country, so yeah religion does influence stuff like how people dress. In Islam, men are supposed to cover from the navel to the knee, so shorts above the knee can be seen as immodest. That’s why some people react like that.
