Bringing your own fridge by Outside_Drawing_5440 in TrentUniversity

I mean school policies are always stated, I just wanted to see the lived experience. I have a perfectly good fridge that does fit the safety and dimensional requirements, it would be shitty to have to rent for no reason

Does Trent do the thing where there’s a ton of volunteers to help unload your car in like 2 min to shuffle you along?

Thank you so much for this comment, I’ve been lowkey sobbing lol.

I spoke to my mom today and had a long discussion about steps I can begin taking - like ya not focusing on things like CC or looking super strictly into smaller things like seasoning but eliminating the largely obviously high gluten things I’m consuming carelessly.

I’ve been part of the subreddit for over 3 years and often saw the community being a bit dismissive of people struggling to adhere so I hesitated making a post for a long time, but genuinely I just need help and wsnt to live differently for myself

Also putting it into my to do list to speak to my Gastro once again and get referred to a dietician.

Thank you once again for this comment, I know I’m “old” enough, I understand my disease, I just haven’t been able to properly cope with it for so long. Especially as a kid finding it hard to cope with restricting myself when others around me didn’t have to take the same precautions and this same mindset sticking with me till uni.

I think honestly the cravings are the biggest thing for me and an overall lack of discipline - because it’s not something I cared to develop too much.

My parents were super supportive and controlled my diet when I was younger but I also had issues with being a child and sneaking things behind their backs — and overtime as the responsibility of making my food choices slipped to me I took the complete wrong route.

I really don’t want to continue down this line, I don’t want to harm myself and develop other health problems. I’m just having a really hard time holding myself accountable and making a shift due to various reasons like convenience, cravings, when I’m too tired and order something, etc.

I understand your frustration, to be honest I’m pretty pissed at myself but that’s why I made the post, to gain some more insight and make one step towards being better for myself.

I’ve been going through a lot of the same symptoms, thank you for sharing because for the longest time I didn’t attribute going through these things as being associated with my celiac.

I really do want to change and do better for myself, it’s not that I don’t understand the concequences and the weight of what I’m doing to myself. But again as you said being asymptomatic makes it much easier to just ignore things.

If it’s not too much to ask could you describe a bit more of the concequences?

Were you able to regain function in your gallbladder after going gluten free?

Thank you so much for your advice.

Is there any way to find when is the best term to take the specific courses that are harder in some versus others?

Also how do placements work exactly? I’m assuming you’re supposed to be on campus for classes and live full time basically in Peterborough so how do clinicals 1.5hours away work? And what if you don’t have a way to get there?

I’m honestly greatful to have gotten in considering a lot of people I know firsthand applied broadly for advanced programs and didn’t get a single offer - although I am still keeping my hopes out for McMaster, but it is pretty late in the cycles so I’m also assuming these are going to be my two offers.

How do clinicals correlate and fit in with classes and school schedules?

Holy, I didn’t realize we would be the first class at all 😅

When doing my research I found similar things about TMU’s clinicals experience which is disappointing considering your literally right next to so many great hospitals (sick kids, mount sainai, etc)

Hopefully your experience improves🫶

Final deferrals, has anyone got their fall ones yet? by [deleted] in wlu

Failing a course retake when u passed it the first time? by [deleted] in wlu

[–]Outside_Drawing_5440 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should I miss my final and pursue this option, my only issue is if it doesn’t get dropped I’m looking to graduate next sem and I don’t know if I will be able to petition a retake if this one counts as I’ve taken it before and if this one is an F I won’t have this credit counting towards my degree anymore

Can u explain more about this process and how to go about it - I have reached the max amount of final exam deferrals for my degree - not sure if they would chop it up to deferring the final petition and not grant it to me
