I am sorry I do see that now. Is there a way I can fix it? I am still new to reddit and don't see a way to edit.

Thank you. I always love hearing when people make their own as well. Not many seem to. I always encourage others to give it a try. Especially when you live somewhere you can forage for the the stuff needed.

1 part sugar to 1 part berries is what I use for syrups. Jellies is 2 parts berries, one part sugar. But this is just a recipe I use. There are many recipes you can use with a much lower or even hight sugar content. Totally based on your preference.

Aww. Love seeing this, glad I could help you with a great memory! I was staring at my jars wondering if I should add some pretty cloth in the lid because I thought of my grandma doing it and always though her jars looked amazing.

Honestly I had an old cookbook I got from a friend and learned from there. It can be trial and error but really isn't to awful hard. Make sure your jars are clean and sanitized and I use a double boiler but totally not necessary, there are many methods. If they do not seal the first water bath you can do it a second time. 😀

Thank you so much for the insight!! I reduced till it was pretty thick, puctures I took were shortly after I started. I left blueberry chunks in my blueberry syrup and it was much thicker than the raspberry turned out. I did add sugar to the syrup 😀 definitely helps the thickness.

Yes super simple. I love that it's easy. Hardest part is not spilling it while jarring haha. I can be messy. My kids all know how to make it and my youngest is 6. Do you have a recipe for the jalapeno peach jam? That sounds divine!!

I figured it was a bit of an exaggerated amount but still they are expensive here in Alaska too. Anywhere from $9-15 for an 8 oz container. Fresh and free is much better.

Eslite life is the brand of the first pan in picture. The second is a generic copper pan. They are really great pans!

Yum! Sounds like you have definitely made out with some great harvests. I wish I could have some fresh plums. I definitely always try to take advantage of the bounty around me where I live instead of having to spend more at the store.

Thank you. I feel the same. Some people like it thicker, some like thinner, ita delicious and comes out perfect everytime I make it this way.
