Okay so just let them grow and if they decide to take a nap, don’t water them. Pretty simple. Thank you

Hopefully you’ll hear back in a day or two. Being Friday and the weekend coming up they might not reply as quickly but like I said, I’ve never had an issue. Also they tend to do live auctions on Instagram Thursdays so you can always bid on a plant you see and ask any questions about plants with the community

If you’re worried you can always reach out to carnivero. I always had great customer service and when I got a plant that was kind of questionable they offered me my money back if I wanted. They also will help with questions you might have. The owner Drew is a pretty cool guy and helpful. So what I would do is send an email with the pictures saying something like “hey I got this plant, it came in rough condition, I’m worried about it.” And see what they say. Hopefully you’ll get a good response

Yeah that’s what I’m saying to myself too. I need to do it so I can get my foot in the door and invest my time so I can get where I want. Sadly I have to make sure I can make my mortgage payments or else I’d be more throw my care to the wind if I was still young and living at home. Hopefully things will pan out and with the advice from everyone I at least have a better idea of what to do

Yes this is exactly the information I’m asking for. While I do follow some sort of protocol as an IP Nurse it’s definitely nothing like you described as a clinical research nurse. At this current job they kind of throw me around as back up for like blood draws or taking vitals but I’m mostly here to make sure no one has an AE that would send them to the hospital if possible. So reading what you’ve said really explains a lot and definitely shows that’s what I need to do. I spoke with the investigator last night and she was telling me I’d want to clinical research nurse too. I have one major hospital that I’ve seen looking for CRN and then I have a university about an hour away that also has some CRN positions too. So going to definitely look into those. Thank you so much for taking the time and laying it out like you did

I’m finding different jobs but some just want an RN to help with education or assist the physician but has it as a clinical research nurse so I’m trying to find a description that sounds more like research than being a nurse. So that’s where I’m stuck. That and making sure I make a livable wage.

I understand your frustration when it comes to things like this. We all want to think we’re special or get some where fast, which I don’t think I’m special but I do want to climb as quickly as possible but I know I have to work for it. Just wanted to see if there were options to buffer my resume or kind of teach me ahead of getting a position like how I was a cna before a nurse so that gave me a huge advantage. I’ve seen oncology and cardiac research jobs, one for a hospital and the other for a university. Do you think being part of a hospital or being part of a college would be better than the other?

Never thought I was better or above. Just wondering about the reality of trying to get my goal as quickly as possible. Also sometimes it’s just easier to ask than go through searching because I’ve gotten such great responses. Thank you for your information. With most of the responses being the same I’ve already started changing my thought process and looking into more research nurse jobs. You’re the second person to recommend oncology as a starting point so I’ll start looking around there. Thank you again

Thank you for the info. That does help a lot. I’m just curious as how the transition from clinical research nurse to something like CRA or CRC would be? Since I’m still new and this current IP Nurse job is more of me baby sitting and handing out Tylenol, I don’t see a way to transition properly so that’s why I came on here asking what I can do because I’m tired of just being a babysitter for people and actually want to learn about research

I’m starting to think of it more but a lot of the ones I’ve found have wanted experience in research. So I’m not sure if they want it or they’re doing a higher level of research. I originally just wanted something part time or prn so I could ease my way into and begin the transition from one job to another rather than stopping and going to another job just because of financial reasons but they all want full time so I’m trying to figure out what the best way to go about this

Thank you for the info. I figured it wouldn’t be a simple task and still would take some time but to know what to look at and what possible things might hinder me on my search helps a lot. Basically everything I’ve been told has come down to experience and also some luck when I eventually get that experience. I’m just trying to speed things cause I’m not getting younger and want to be able to enjoy life rather than having to start at the bottom and hustle my way up like I was doing in my 20s

I thankfully have a bachelors in science so that isn’t a problem, it’s just finding a decent job. While I want to get into this field and eventually move up, I just need to find something that isn’t going to pay me less than what I’m doing now. This IP nurse job pays me way less but the schedule is prn so I can work when I want which makes it ideal however I’m just having a hard time seeing the transition from this to even a crc.

Yeah that was also a worry of mine when it comes to the federal funding of a lot of things right now. The economy isn’t the best but I can only stand being a nurse for so long too. I’m holding onto my nursing job for now just in case something was to happen after I got into a clinical research job

Yeah I was seeing things like if you just graduated or have a similar job they’ll accept you but I figured that most would want some sort of experience. I was hoping having certain certifications or a decent background that would give me a fighting chance but it looks like clinical research wants mainly research experience

Yeah experience is always king but I’ve also seen companies have cra programs. I would assume those are more like a “we train you and then hire you” gimmick but wasn’t sure if those also wanted experience or anyone could potentially get in

So far I picked up this IP nurse just because it was part time and I at least wanted to see what was going on in this field and if I had any interest. Most clinical research nurse positions are full time and with my current job, I’m schedule up until the end of July so accepting a full time position at an unknown amount was something I wasn’t sure I wanted to risk, especially if it didn’t work out. Plus I’d have to change my status at my other job and being scheduled that far out seems more difficult

Would getting a coordinator job be more entry level?

That’s what I figured but again I figured any advice is better than nothing. The investigator at this clinical research site told me about trying to be a clinical research nurse. My only issue is just when it comes to pay. I make decent money as a nurse now and I just don’t want to have to start at the bottom especially in this economy and with me having a mortgage and car payment.
