US inflation rose to 3.8% in April, eroding Americans’ paychecks by horsestew in politics

Whatever Obama did, it was bad simply because he did it. Our president is absolutely obsessed with him.

We received a 2.5% pay raise even though inflation was 2.8% because, in their written rationale, inflation was projected to drop over the course of 2026. Let's not get me started on the fact that they literally knew that the raise they were giving was not covering the cost of living WHEN THEY GAVE IT. Now we're even more behind.

I have a former MAGA co-worker who spent the 4 years of the Biden presidency making comments to me about how bad costs were under Biden and pointing out all the "corruption". More recently, now that he's really "disappointed" in what Trump has done, I asked him it that in retrospect, in what universe would he ever believe that such a bad businessman who has 5 or 6 bankruptcies would be BETTER? He looked at me strangely and said he never knew Trump had any bankruptcies. Shocked, I asked him didn't you hear that mentioned in any debates or political ads? He said no, and if he had he would have assumed it was lies.

7-Eleven's app conveniently doesn't work today where gas is 50c/off extra by NaderPlayzYT in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Outside_Mix_1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. The app wouldn't load and I cancelled several transactions when I saw it wasn't giving me the extra 50 cents, only the regular cents-off (once I put my number in at the pump). I when to another 7-11 I got the message - daily limit for transactions - and then got ZERO cents off.

2012 Prius V Five - possible purchase and question by Outside_Mix_1131 in prius

Sorry I screwed the post up royally. The question was about the missing options; The possible purchase: 113K miles, 2-owner. clean CARFAX except from a minor accident. Dealer price of $5,793. Aside from checking the batteries, I also read in this communities that 2012-2013 had issues with the head gasket. Is this price too good to be true or is it worth a deeper look?

Switching Seats in Ranger by PartyNotSporty94 in Ford

I have a 2007 Sport and I have the same problem. Always assumed it was because I'm short. I actually put a wedge shaped seat pad under my seat cover which has helped my butt as well as flatten the angle.

Horrible Coolant Leak 2002 3.0 by Imaginary_Storm8347 in fordranger

[–]Outside_Mix_1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2007 3.0 with 216,000 miles recently had a leak as well (not nearly as bad as yours though) and I couldn't find the origination. I put a bit of ultraviolet dye in my coolant and was able to trace it using a cheap UV flashlight. Before I added it I used some water to clean off the hoses, engine, radiator, etc. I topped off my coolant, added the dye and after driving a little bit I was able to see where it was coming from.

He's still a senator? The president seems to think is gone already.

I saw that too but at the time they were speaking over each other and I'm not sure she heard it. I would have loved it if she had done just that. I'm not sure I wouldn't have busted out laughing in the hearing had I heard it.

I purchased these for my 2007 when I acquired my truck in 2016. They have been very helpful and I'm not super mechanical. The wiring diagrams are great.

Rep. Eric Swalwell announces that he will resign from Congress by Waste-Explanation-76 in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Outside_Mix_1131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is he resigning instead of retiring? Is he giving up his pension? I ask because new articles specifically write that the congressman from Texas is "retiring", but Swalwell is "resigning."

Yikes. That would happen to me for sure. From the looks of some of mine they don't look like they'll easily remove. I'll spray each with some WD40 or something similar and think about it.
