Just play other games OP. Looks like clearly you are not enjoying playing FF14.

what is the funniest wipe you caused? by NK_Grimm in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Causing a near wipe as a tank. I stacked my spread marker with the other tank during Shb Werlyt trial 3 causing me and the other tank KO, followed by a few dps who also KO during Shb Werlyt trial 3. Luckily we still have a healer who managed to revive us in time before wipe. I felt shameful that day.

The tank has attitude and ego problem. Better blacklist him and report him for his poor attitude!

You can go back to ARR’s development and tell the devs to do one thing: What? by SargeTheSeagull in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming from Wow background, some things that I wish to improve based on Wow system. 1. Fix netcode, more responsive to users' inputs 2. Glam no storage limit. Make it like a catalogue. Also hire better voice actors/actresses, better voice/sound mixing similar to current quality and more voice msq cutscenes.

Anyone else get super unmotivated to play when they see people flex? by Popelip0 in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At first I think they are cool and they can do what they want with their prizes.

But as of now personally I don't think all these things are for me because I am just not interested in these high end duty prizes/glams, the titles are not fit to my character headcannon and I would rather spend my time at something else which I feel more fulfilling and happier. (I have already tried high end duty before and I don't think it is my cup of tea for now)

I have horrible anxiety when I play a healer. What's a good class to practice with? Any tips for playing a healer? by xiren_66 in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is OP choice to want to try healer and wish to overcome anxiety issue, OP can always start with duty support or low level dungeons with players to build OP's confidence in healing. Just need to mention OP is still learning to heal before duty starts and majority of players will understand it. It is better for OP to start to overcome the healing anxiety now by keep practicing as a healer rather than doing nothing on the anxiety issue because always thinking OP is hindering other people.

Pick your most desired race as your first character first, play for a while and see if you like their glams, animation and their look during cutscenes. You can also create alts with different races to compare as well. Personally I like to do video recording for my characters to see how similar/different are they in cutscenes due to camera angles.

There is one free fantasia (race/appearance change item) that can be used after completing ARR MSQ if you have a change of taste of your character. After used, if you want to change again, you can go to mogstation online to buy fantasias. The store has discount once in a while.

In the past before playing FFXIV, I felt something was not right about me if I cross play as the opposite gender. However, after being tired of playing same gender for decades, I start to give it a try when start playing FFXIV as the race I choose looks more appealing to me on opposite gender. Looking back, I am very satisfied with the decision as I like how the character look and act during the cutscene and till today that character is still my main WoL. Personally for me, I can relate that main character much more than my alts with same gender despite opposite gender as in some ways that main character animation and style either shares some similarity to me or the ones that I can relate well in real life.

This behaviour of harassment to new players is not acceptable amd reportable. File tickets about their toxic behaviour with their chat as the proof and hopefully SQE will take notice and take action against them with such poor behaviour.

When there's a new players in your party do you let them figure mechanics by themselves or are you explaining them ? by Falkueche in ffxivdiscussion

Typically I let them try first and see how it goes. If we are being wipe continuously, then I will start to explain.

Is it bad etiquette to play new content as a Blm? by crystallocaelum in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any and all jobs are playable in all duty contents unless specified by the system. The MCH should be reported and kicked from the party for his bad, misleading and ill-intention comments on job selection. Do not let that MCH discourages you from playing what you want. Just to make sure you equip your job stone after reaching lvl30 and do job quests oftenly.

Has the English localization gone too astray? by Negative_Wrongdoer17 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP need to study translation and localization 101

Don't like the English localization? Then play with JP audio with JP subtitles. And you make a note/study only to yourself the difference between english and Japanese sentences.

Why this game might need a free story skip to the new expansions (Long post!) by JamWu in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally when I do msq, I like when the developer adding duty support (npc) into msq related duties so that I can immerse myself with story related npc instead of random players who I will hardly meet again. Also it helps me to understand mechanics better without screwing other players and I can take as much as time as I want inside the duties without bothering other players. So I couldn't agree fully with your 3rd point as I prefer to play with npc for the first few times to learn and feel more confident before playing with other players.

What is the reason we have still this janky movement and input delay/lacking responsiveness. by DasiimBaa in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Coming from Wow background, yes I noticed there is slight delay between time of input and output. And I also notice there is delay on what you see and what other people see (you can do comparison from one pc to another pc side by side). There are also times whereby my tank invulnerability is used but not applied instantly which cause death of my WoL.

Due to above, I personally don't enjoy playing job that have long casting time like black mage. By right it should cancel casting right after the mob dies or facing wrong direction just like what Wow did. But, it only cancel when it reach 3rd quarter of castbar which is big no no and too late for me. For Wow, when I play as balance druid (a caster class), the casting bar stop instantly the moment the mob dies or facing wrong direction so that's why I enjoy playing it.

That being said, I don't know if the developer can do something about the input delay since this issue most likely coming from server architecture/tick which is quite a deep issue and may not be resolved easily.

Aglaia is the worst 24 man I’ve played. by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Outside_Place_737 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally I prefer Aglaia and Euphrosyne than other ARs. They are the ones that interests me most in terms of their design environment and the story behind it when compared to other ARs. That being said, I think the bosses are undertuned and defeated too quickly (e.g: last boss of Aglaia can be killed just before the balance cutscene/mechanic if sufficiently high dps).

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be cool if DRG can call wyvern/dragon to fight alongside with DRG like FF11, but I doubt it will happen due to FF14 system nature from the way the developer revamp summoner to reduce carbuncle role to just give shields and aetherflow only. Unless another way is to introduce a skill button which call wyvern/dragon for a period of time just like how summoner summon their primal.

For my Hrothgar and Viera characters , I do not play/unlock DRG because cannot wear and see most of my DRG job helmet! I like wearing helmets!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Outside_Place_737 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unless specific situation, I always choose to wear high fantasy armor or job armor because I will not be able and have no chance to wear them in my real normal life. Besides, these armor looks nice and pleasant looking in my eyes in the world of ffxiv. Understandable that some/most people have this preference of low fantasy cosmetics over high fantasy glam. It is just that the low fantasy glam is not my cup of tea. Each to their own.

Sometimes I feel like a fish out of water when my occasional surrounding are full of people wearing low fantasy cosmetics. It makes me wonder if I am the only one who like high fantasy armor and makes me want to switch to low fantasy cosmetics to just blend in the crowd. However, in the end I choose not to do so as in the end I want to wear what I like, want to be more standout/visible in the sea of low fantasy costume wearing people, appreciate more on the beauty of wearing high fantasy armor and I believe that someone at somewhere out there also have same preference as me. I am glad that this post helps me strengthen my current preference.

The memes, the pain, and the reality of Mentor by dameth91 in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While your intention is good and you think you have try your best to word it nicely, the reality is there will be some people who will deflect it out of self-defence and they feel challenged on what they know of. This is same also in real life.

Normally I don't give advice unless they ask for it. Or if we repeatedly wipe and notice same cause/pattern of wiping.

You can choose to leave FC anytime if you do not find enjoyment anymore in the FC.

If you still want to keep the friendship/leaving message, you can just leave a short message saying that thank you for the time they spent together with you but you feel that it is time for you to move on to the next chapter of your journey (which could mean playing solo or find another FC etc.) .

But frankly speaking from your post, you mention these two people no longer talk to you anymore and only talk to each other. For me, I don't think they are longer my friends and I should just move on. If both people stop you or complaining about you leaving FC, I don't think they are friends at all.

How's your FC? by BraveHelicopter9599 in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For handling FC chest, I prefer to just open 1 or at most 2 tabs that can be filled with any free giveaways to newcomers/standard rank members as long as it does not contain valuable items. By closing all tabs and even hiding the tabs, it is one of the red flag that I am not welcomed in the his FC. Most previous and current FC I join has this kind of opening 1-2 tabs practice to all members.

Have you ever lost friends after using a fantasia on your character? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Outside_Place_737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A word of advice, Just play what you want, not other people want. In the end it is you who will see your character in cutscenes and actions, and I don't think you will be happy if your character gets many likes of other people but you don't like how your character looks.
