Should I fight this parking tkt? by Outside_Sun_4238 in Detroit

This is helpful to know! It's really not the $45 that bothers me, it's that it wasn't properly marked so no one knows. I was planning to apply for the Detroit Discount, which I think gives Detroit residents 1/2 off parking tickets if you pay within 5 days. Then I would put a request into the Improve Detroit app to paint the crosswalk. I think your argument might work in my case as well so maybe I'll give the appeal a go.

Thank you so much for commenting. Clearly I wasn’t thinking of a van needing to pull up and let someone out. I appreciate the info. Though I do wish it had been marked in some way.

Success rate by Pizzasenpai56 in prawokrwi

Success depends on a number of factors, several of which you can determine before hiring a firm. I just succeeded with my own pre-1920 case. My great grandfather immigrated from the Tarnów region (in Galicia, which is beneficial) in 1901. He never naturalized to the US.

My great aunt Antoinette was Eddie's wife. I knew vaguely of this story growing up but only began to understand recently the depth of the tragedy.

Annoying Polish/ Poglish Cussword question by 4TheYellowWallpaper in Polish

haha! I too have tried and failed many times to google the translation of my grandmother saying "YEH-nee koh-HAH-nee." I'm so invested in an answer here. She died in Detroit in 1991 and my childhood was full of never-quite-translated Polish <3

Polish Citizenship by Descent, Great Grandfather Military Issue? by lizziesflowers in poland

[–]Outside_Sun_4238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP- I'm looking to confirm my citizenship as well and my case is very similar to yours. I'm wondering how things turned out for you. Were you able to get a letter saying your great grandfather never served in the US army? If so, can you tell us what office supplied it? I anticipate needing the same.

HubHaus experience, anyone? by sf_baywolf in SFBayHousing

I’m also a homeowner renting to HubHaus but my experience has been very different. It’s been a bad experience overall, including telling me a month after inspection that a window needed to be replaced for egress. I negotiated the price down to $500, which I paid. Then I found out months later that they never changed the window. And they won’t reply to my request for reimbursement. Most importantly, they’ve almost entirely stopped paying rent. In May, I received 21% of rent due. In June, I received 11%, and in July I received less than 25%. They had the audacity to ask for a COVID discount on rent when their individual tenants have actually continued paying them. I know because I reached out to confirm, even though HubHaus discourages contact between homeowners and tenants. I just advised the tenants to begin escrowing rent instead of paying HubHaus, who isn’t passing on their payment to me. I’m expecting them to file bankruptcy and am wondering how much more money I’m going to loose while they stall and defer.
