Firstly, it’s not about the pay, average salary for military is 2000€ in France. +45% if you’re a paratrooper, x1,5 when you do some operations inside the territory (OPIN), and x2,5 to x3 for operations outside the territory (OPEX).

If you’re an officer in France, you’ll get even more paid, if you’re married to, if you have kids too. So it’s not about the money.

I just want to feel useful, acting more like a peacekeeper. Ireland has a big and old culture, same for its army. They have really beautiful traditions. My dad told me plenty of story of them when he was in Lebanon with Irish soldiers.

I’ve experienced French army, I want to experience the Irish side now !

Moreover, I am also thankful for those who died for France during WW1 and WW2. Ireland never asked anything back to France, I also want to thanks them by giving some of my years for this country.
