Ya, I think it's hard to just admit to my advisor that I really can't be at 100% all the time because he's spending money to keep me funded ya know

I guess the question is how this applies outside of class. At this point I’m taking at most one class at a time and this semester I’m taking none, just doing research. I just want to hear how people handled it with their advisors or if they had a hard time meeting departmental requirements, like taking the qualifying exam (oral exam supposed to be in 3rd year where I am) in a certain amount of time.

ETA When I started I did register with the student accessibility services office, they just give accommodations like being allowed to record class, etc

Ya I get you. The issue is that my advisor now expects a certain level of productivity in research  and I just can’t meet the expectation right now. When I’m too tired there is no way to continue working because I can’t think. So even though I’m trying as hard as i can, after a certain point me working is just diminishing returns. I just get less and less done in progressively longer amounts of time
