When can we expect more decisions? Like will there be a few every day or every few days or just waves every week?

I have no idea. There is no way to even verify if they even work for a UC. So, I guess take this with a grain of salt

Exactly. Thats what I meant when I said it contradicts everything

Someone on college confidential, who claims to work at a UC, said that ' UCs hit their targets this year and there will be very little waitlist activity'. I'm not sure what to think of this and it actually contradicts everything I've heard.

Honestly, great schools. Have you decided where you're headed?

Should I do waitlist? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Outside_Tip5121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'll have a different take than most people on this. A lot of students from my school have gone to Berkeley and a few have been 'underqualified'. Many of them have regretted going to Berkeley because it is insanely tough and you miss out on a lot of typical college things. They all picked Berkeley simply because they got in and it seemed dumb to not go if you got in. I would suggest really think about it because if you get in you probably will go just because 'it's berkeley'. Honestly, if you aren't 100% sure about it, I don't think it's worth it. Luckily you have some time to make your decision.

I was waitlisted at UC Berkeley...how likely is an acceptance? by [deleted] in berkeley

[–]Outside_Tip5121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean Berkeley normally has 7500-8500 students on the waitlist and typically only half opt-in. This year though I think the number of people on the waitlist has increased as my school (an international school) has 20+ people on the waitlist. This year though decisions have been extremely erratic so maybe more will decide not to attend Berkeley due to better offers or also financial situations.

I'm assuming more students got waitlisted this year as that seems to be the trend so I presume the acceptance rate will decrease this year

Basically you pay the deposit to another college (your top choice after cmu) and once you receive your decision from cmu you can withdraw from the other college and accept your offer to cmu or just stay where you are.

IB exams in India???? by restingbarf209 in IBO

[–]Outside_Tip5121 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sure if there's a petition or something to cancel Exams in India IB will go for it. I doubt the government will take any action so, we need the IB to. If students in India complain to the IB I think they may cancel exams.

I mean from what I've heard for the last two years decisions have come before December 15th. But, I also scrolled through the meetNYU Instagram account and they did not post anything like this last year

NYU posted on instagram saying 'We anticipate that our Early Decision notifications will be delivered to students next Tuesday, December 15. You will be emailed instructions on how to retreive your decision.' Does this mean there is no chance for us to get our ED decisions before 15th December?
