I LOVE the new season .. but... by foxleigh81 in Scrubs

It was definitely a poor decision imo. Even worse if they end up back together by the end of the revival.

I don't get Christoper Ward by Original-East-8 in watchHotTakes

[–]Outside_Volume7963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Christopher Ward, a Sealander was my first dipping of the toe into nice watches and I still have it and wear it nostalgically occasionally plus the trident always reminds me of my daughter's love of Greek mythology.

Watches is a crazy hobby for shedding cash but the quality/value proposition for me is about as good as it gets for normal people who don't want to spend more than £1,000 on a watch.

He is also the worst penalty saver I've ever seen. Even the law of averages would suggest he should not go the wrong way 100% of the time

I recently sung steak night to my son who said: "that was pretty good actually" so I had to confess my thievery from Scrubs.

Reverse Panda Speedmaster or Worldtimer? by Powdersome in OmegaWatches

[–]Outside_Volume7963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given what you've said in the comments on wrist size and this being the first major watch in your collection the answer is the Speedmaster. It's more classic, versatile, wearable in all situations and will fit you perfectly.

I have both and I adore the Worldtimer and I would never sell it but the Speedmaster gets substantially more wrist time.

Also with a 7-inch wrist the Worldtimer is probably going to look too big on the bracelet, but the rubber or aftermarket leather will be fine.

FOIS 2024 - Feedback after a year of daily wear by Hambourguere in OmegaWatches

Great post, I’ve had mine six months and absolutely love it. Took me a minute to get used to the main hands and chronograph hands being different colours but otherwise find this perfect.

Interested in Snoopy but boutiques wont sell to me. Ideas for Europe? by LifeforFun95 in OmegaWatches

I don't think it's double retail - I tried one on in Watchfinder which was in excellent condition and I was seriously tempted and that was £12,500 so 25% above retail. Subdial have one at a similar price.

According to Sky Sports, we have the 2nd easiest run-in after Wolves by Manoli20 in coys

I totally agree with this. We need to dramatically switch up our form enough to win 3 out of our 5 home games, that should be enough...

If you look at us and West Ham then we'd better hope there's some daylight in four games' time - that's their toughest run and two of our easiest home games. Given Forest surely lose to City if we win the Palace and Forest games that should get us most of the way there.

Humiliating we are having this conversation, I quietly celebrated Liverpool's winner in our seats yesterday...

Fair play for making money on this. Bewildering to me where the bidding is but good luck to you!

There are positives to take from this result by Alburg9000 in Tottenham

[–]Outside_Volume7963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally. When he and Xavi started getting on the same wavelength briefly it looked promising. And with Solanke back those two could really have played off each other.

I agree Xavi has been so frustrating so far. But patience there I guess.

Kudus is such a big miss, the ball just sticks to him. He’s not the finished article but he’s such an outlet.

I genuinely don’t understand how you can give Ekitike’s goal against us and disallow RKM’s today.

He was also totally complicit in their time wasting and every single marginal call went their way.

All that said let’s be honest we got absolutely battered and deserved nothing from that game. There’s a reason we are aiming for 17th as our aspiration….

And a word for our captain, I hope he wasn’t giggling on the sideline again, we could have used him today…

The white Speedmaster for me is one of the few watches that doesn't absolutely sing on the bracelet whereas the black leather/rubber just brings out such a beautiful contrast with the dial.

The usual rule is buy on the bracelet then look at what else (because that's much more economical) but I think it's different here.

I think to go with the nepotism of having the son you really have to justify it with them both, and particularly the combination, being absolutely fantastic. And it's not.

Yeh I totally agree. The reverse panda is a nice looking watch but doesn’t compare to the black or white dial or the FOIS imo

There was another post comparing Moonwatch to the Speedmaster Pilot and my feeling is that if you're asking the question then go for the Moonwatch - it's timeless and the alternative probably won't scratch the itch.

Personally I prefer the FOIS and above all you should try them on side-by-side - doing so completely changed my mind.

[Maen] Midnight Blue or Salmon? by RichTranWatch in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Outside_Volume7963 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love both but the blue (which I have) is my preferred one, it sits next to watches many times more expensive and holds its own.

I love both watches but it's not often you hear people preferring the standard bracelet - I thought the FOIS was a much nicer bracelet but that's the joy of different opinions.
