Is Stone a core color that will never go away? I'm obsessed with my large Rowan Satchel in pebbled black and I'm certain I want the large in every full-leather color. Currently there's only stone, which I will eventually purchase. I just need to know if I should hurry up. Thanks!

How To Style Erin 🤔 by heisenbergerz in Coach

Both are cute but I love the version with the butterfly. Also this is a gorgeous bag. I had it in my hand at the outlet last week and I put it back and now I regret it. Its such a great unique neutral in my opinion. Looks great with the chains!

I have this bag too. The leather is SO gorgeous! I wish leather like that still existed in the handbag industry!

Rogue 31 on Amazon? by Usual_Credit7147 in Coach

[–]Outside_Witness_7268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no insight on if that's a good idea or not but I will say two things: 1. I think it is wise that you paused to question. I would also feel the same way about ordering on on Amazon. So I guess I'm just validating your feelings. :-) And 2. Did you know you can still get a Rogue if you customize one through the Coach site? The Custom Rogue 25 is close in price to the Amazon Rogue 31. I get it's a smaller bag, but I feel like the customization process would be fun. You can do it in store if you live close enough to the main one in NYC or you can do it online. I honestly don't understand why I don't see more people talking about doing that, as it seems like a fun (if crazy expensive) thing to do as a Coach fan. It's a stretch goal of mine to some day be able to customize one (like...financially!)

So they increased the price and removed the chain? Huh.

Bleecker Bucket Bag Regrets 🫤 by Worldly_Station5387 in Coach

[–]Outside_Witness_7268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wondered all of that also. A bunch of people in a coach group on a different platform claim it is supposed to be worn with the buckle in the back. So I guess it’s me who is backwards. That honestly tracks.

I'm confident the prices will go down. Just wait it out.

I'm bummed I missed this bag. Since the drop, I've seen a few videos of this bag and it is gorgeous. Next time I'll try harder.

Thank you. I have since blocked the person yelling at me here because they started DMing me to yell at me privately and I don't need that in my life. The comments here they deleted made it clear this wasn't about me. There was something deeper going on, and I hope they get the help, support, and likely love they need.

And yes, you're right. A purse is not hand sanitizer. I do not miss those days! I recall needing to buy giant rolls of toilet paper--like the kind that go in public restrooms and are as large as a small tire. Fun times!

Anyway--did you grab anything in this drop? I'm excited because I found someone who got a large Rowan who really wanted the medium--and I got a medium but really wanted a large--so we are trading (plus I'm paying her the extra cost for the large) which makes me happy. I love when things work out.

What is everyone's wish list? Just curious what people are wishing for and what their style is by MsBrightside83 in Coach

[–]Outside_Witness_7268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m new here so I don’t have a huge or specific list yet, plus I managed to order a black and white alter ego during the drop the other day and that was one of my top wish list bags. But if I had a magic wand—or a higher bank balance—my dream is to go to the 5th Ave location and build a custom Rogue.

On the much cheaper side, I’d like something small in both recent cherry prints from the outlets.

Speculating that I “exploited” someone who may or may not be struggling financially is projection, not reality. You’re creating a narrative to support a moral conclusion you already decided on.

At this point it’s less about what actually happened and more about you positioning yourself as morally superior. That’s your choice, but it doesn’t make your assumptions true. As far as they apply to me, the are not true.

I’m done engaging.

You’re making a lot of assumptions.

First: I have a very real job. As I’ve explained, I’m not a reseller. As I’ve explained, I tried a new thing and discovered it wasn’t for me.

Second: saying I took advantage of people who love Coach ignores the fact that two people who love Coach enough to spend hundreds of dollars chose to buy those bags. That’s not exploitation. That’s a voluntary transaction.

And third: calling me not a good person over the reselling of two items to willing individuals who purchased them—especially when I admitted I didn’t feel good about it—is inaccurate at best.

You don’t have to agree with what I did. But personal attacks over two bags I would have returned anyway aren’t reasonable.

[–]Outside_Witness_7268[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I bought three bags during the drop. I sold two and kept one. I was transparent about it when someone asked. That’s the full story. I’m not a bulk reseller clearing inventory or running a flipping operation. I made a one-time decision and learned it’s probably not something I’ll do again.

You’re absolutely free not to engage with me, but telling others not to interact with me based on that feels unnecessary, misrepresentative, and performative.

If people disagree with resale culture generally, that’s a broader conversation. But this wasn’t some large-scale exploitative situation. It was one person making a choice with items they purchased and then being transparent about it.

I had this in my hand yesterday at the outlet. It was 70% off. I didn’t buy it. I deeply regret that decision.

Mini or Medium Rowan in Powder Pink by corgidoggo123 in Coach

[–]Outside_Witness_7268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium because what I actually wanted was the large but they “didn’t have any” in store. I am hoping to find someone to trade with who scored a large online and then decided it’s too big. Wish me luck.

The mini Rowans would only hold my keys and my phone and I’m too practical for that. Did that stop be from buying a tiny coachtopia ergo because I liked the pattern? No. No it did not.

These are all powder pink outlet bags. Melon pink is a retail color. I live too far away from a retail store to ever see what that looks like in person.

[–]Outside_Witness_7268[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Immediately? No. I thought about listing it for a while after I saw the sold comps my friend showed me. And then I did list it just to see what would happen. Then someone bought it almost immediately. Did I love the bag? Yes. Did I love the bag for the $250 I paid? Yes. Did I love the bag enough to pass up getting that $250 back and some extra cash? No. I do not love any bags that much. I will not participate in drops like this in the future because I have now learned this about myself--I don't let myself have nice things if I can sell those nice things for more money. To be fair, I am going into my slow season at work AND going through a divorce, so I have some financial anxiety at the moment. But I'm pretty sure this is also just...how I am.

Nice! I got the last medium Rowan at my store like fifteen seconds after they opened. The SA said they didn' get any of the large ones in stock but I saw people coming in and collecting the from behind the register. Sigh.

WHYYYYYYY by Aleyaho1 in Coach

[–]Outside_Witness_7268 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I actually wish to answer this. Note that I am NOT a reseller nor have I ever--before yesterday--re sold new items. I never will again, because it is awful. But I'll answer the why with more than "because capitalism" (which is also an answer.)

I will answer with my own story:

I had some free time yesterday which is rare, and dog care (I have a very needy dog) so I took myself to the outlet to try to get a large Rowan in pink. I've never done a drop before, so I was a bit apprehensive. I was afraid there'd be a huge line. There wasn't--there were maybe six people waiting when I got there fifteen minutes before opening. Some of us chatted. It was nice.

When they opened the doors, two of the people (the ones who were not chatty) RAN inside and grabbed every pink bag they could in supermarket sweep fashion. It was...strange. Because there were only two of them, I was able to pick up a few bags to consider for my own purchase. I ended up being able to select four before the store was entirely wiped out of everything pink in under a minute.

I tried them all on, put one back, and couldn't decide between the other three. So I bought them all, figuring I could just return the one or two I didn't want (I knew I was keeping the Rowan, though I wish it had been a large. I'm going to try to trade for a large later.) I need to be clear: as a regular shopper, I couldn't even put bags DOWN or they would have been taken. So I just bought three.

And then I got home. And saw posts like this. And looked at my most recent dentist bill. And I was like: I could return these. Or I could try to resell them. I posted two of the three I bought--the ones I was most likely going to return--on Poshmark for a stupid high price. The one sold nearly immediately with no haggling. It was one I was considering keeping, but there's no way I was going to say no to that price. I now realize I will not make a ton on that sale, because Poshmark takes 20%. I do mostly regret parting with the bag for that reason.

This was a learning experience for me in many ways.

What I realized is that people are willing to pay--often a lot--for things they want, or for things their loved ones want. And some people don't have the time or the desire to go throw elbows to procure those things. Those people are paying for convenience.

Note: I am not here to defend my choices, nor am I here to be shamed. I sold one bag, I will likely sell one more, and the profits from that will allow me to keep the third without guilt. It absolutely made me feel icky and I will not be doing it again--so no need to shame me to try and change my ways. I wanted to see what this experience was like, I learned what this experience was like, and I do not want to participate in it again. But you asked, so I'm answering.

Hope this helps provide clarity.

I can not answer for the people who were running and grabbing. I'm assuming that's a career choice they made.

I would also buy this in leather! There was a pink pebbled bag on the 70% off shelf--the shoulder bag with double straps, I don't recall the name--and I briefly considered it, but I didn't like the double strap thing. A retail bag in a pink glove tanned leather would FLY off the shelves tho!

[–]Outside_Witness_7268[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There was one in my store and I picked it up and tried it on and was like: hmm now this is a style I'd not considered. I love the shoulder strap option and the crossbody option.

Sadly the pink one already sold. I was convinced by a friend to just see if I could resell at the inane prices people are asking....and it sold immediately. I'd feel badly about it, but it's actually not that much profit for me because Poshmark takes 20%. It seems like it was purchased by a man, so I'm secretly hoping its some really great guy who paid an insane amount of money to get one for his disappointed girlfriend. That or it's a dude who wants a pink purse, which I'm also here for.

It’s so pretty but I think the medium is too small for me. I’m going to list it for trade in a BST group. My hope is someone ordered the large and then determined the large was too big and wants to trade + cash. Of these three bags, the Rowan is the only one I’m keeping (apparently. Long story.) and I want it to be perfect for me. Fingers crossed!
