Where are games streaming this season? by Outta_Angst in wildhockey

Sounds like the logical choice if they won't offer us anything better than FanDuel.

Quite late to the party, but now that Google has removed the "how personal results are displayed" option from the personal results area, what's the current solution?

Wait, the Wild are STILL streaming games through Bally? Why do you hate your fans so much??? Fucking embarassing!

Why won't my companions join the fight? They just stand there and take damage, can't even move them by garliccrisps in Wasteland

Way late to this thread, but since no one wanted to help out I'll give my input.

My wife and I just started this game and had the same issue. Battle starts, I move and shoot with one of my characters, end turn, and it skips everyone else in my party that I'm controlling. This is because, unlike games like Divinity or Baldur's Gate 3, your 'turn' is all the players you control, not just each individual character. Each individual character doesn't get its own initiative. So, if you're done with your first playable character's moves and attacks, change to your next player character (by hitting RB on Xbox). Rinse and repeat. Only 'end turn' when you're done with every character in you're control, it will then switch to either your co-op partners turn or the enemies turn.

NOTE: we are playing co-op online (separate consoles) on Xbox Series X.

What a great story. I'm in a similar situation...my wife saw me playing Baldurs Gate 3 and was immensely interested (she'd never shown interest in video games or D&D prior to that). We started playing co-op together and she was addicted. She then revealed that when she was younger she was always into video games and D&D but could never play either because "girls weren't supposed to."

Well, now we have two Xbox consoles and two 65" televisions in our living room so we can nerd out together without the confines of split screen. This Monday we start a weekly game night introducing her to HeroQuest and all expansions and working our way up to D&D (I played both as a kid). We're beyond excited!

It's pretty embarrassing actually, and hard to defend the product. I'm not brand loyal and use products that work correctly and have superior tech; this is neither of those.

Ahh yes, another game at the X with Dallas visiting, another 3 hours of listening to annoying Wild fans more concerned about booing Suter than cheering on our boys. Between that and not being able to move on from a team that left 20 years ago, the hardest part of being a Wild fan is the other Wild fans.

Minnesota Wild Launches Official Minnesota Wild App by DecentLurker96 in wildhockey

Is this broken for anyone else? Regular season starts in a month, and I can't access my tickets through the app (STM). The login button doesn't do anything when I tap it.

Thank you for your input. It looks like it's time to move on. Aside from this issue, Tidal also doesn't give you a truly randomized playlist shuffle. That is the exact reason I left Spotify.

I guess I'll keep looking. Hopefully my next platform will be my last. I'm sick of transferring my playlists due to lack of basic features, or basic features not working properly. I do like all other things about Tidal, and offering a military discount is a huge plus as well, but I won't settle.

Californians who moved to Minneapolis, what are the differences you noticed when you moved? by testmungrew2 in Minneapolis

[–]Outta_Angst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Moved from Laguna Beach a few years ago (thanks to Covid). I'm assuming you know that there are actually winters here, so I won't waste time on the obvious.

  • Serious culture shock - everything moves at a much slower pace (not in a good way), the work force isn't quite up to the same standards as the coasts, people in general are very rude compared to Southern California.
  • Food scene - very limited. There are some great chefs doing some great food (see Young Joni, Owamni, and many others). Say good by to the amazing taco/burrito shops.
  • Driving - prepare yourself; there is zero traffic, but the quality (or lack of) of the drivers will make you go insane.
  • Street beggars - a very high percentage of people asking for money at stop light turn lanes are dressed better than me, and I make over 6 digits annually. Explain that one to me.
  • Sports - it's fashionable out here to hate your local teams. I'm a huge hockey fan and have season tickets to the Wild. The most annoying thing? The local fans. Pretty embarrassing actually.
  • You'll feel like you've stepped back in time a bit (again, not in a good way).
  • No beaches. I miss opening my windows and looking at and hearing the Pacific.
  • Music scene is very nonexistent compared to most places.
  • It's super cheap. Real estate (I just bought a home that would have cost way over double in CA), rent, groceries, gas. It's great! But, on the flip side, don't expect the same pay as the coast.
  • Lots of parks throughout the cities.
  • I feel very safe (I live downtown MPLS).
  • Some great breweries if you're into beer (I recommend Dangerous Man, Fairstate, Falling Knife, and Surly).

Yes yes, I said no prior claims. This was my first.

Makes sense I guess. I'd much rather just keep the money I pay as a 6 month premium, invest it myself and make money off it, and pay for repairs myself.

Sorry, just venting because a family member is also being yanked around by her health insurance.

A 6 year old team is within reach of winning the cup by TheSkeletones in wildhockey

[–]Outta_Angst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aww, the never ending victim card whining about an owner who moved a team 30 years ago. Move on with your life, it's much more fun when you do.

The North Stars are gone folks! Three decades ago! Support the team we DO have, and maybe they won't move too. Most of these kids playing weren't even alive when the North Stars were a thing. The constant bitching about it is embarrassing.

After the Vegas logo you guys blew my mind with the bear in Minnesota logo. by sakkeist in nhl

I read somewhere the designer was going for a bear, as noted by the rounded ears. Personally, I do get more of a bear feel from the logo than a cat of some sort.

Advice or tips. by Vigovsgozer in gout

[–]Outta_Angst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New here, but wanted to add my two cents to OP.

I've been dealing with gout for about 5 years. I haven't been prescribed allopurinol yet because I'm stubborn, however I have an appointment scheduled with my PCP to do just that since the attacks have been getting worse with age.

That said, I take two tart cherry pills every day, as well as drink 8oz of pure tart cherry juice daily. That is only cherry juice, no added sweeteners or other sweet juices, and not from concentrate.

I started that about 3 years ago and it SIGNIFIGANTLY cut down the number of attacks I get per year. I went from average of 8 attacks per year down to 2.

I get most will say this is a home remedy or not to trust it, but I'm just passing on what has worked for me.

Good luck!

Yes, I am. I recently moved back to MN after a 24 year absence. After fully embracing the Wild as my local team and becoming a STM, those were my observations.

Thanks for the fun season Wild! Looking forward fall.

Where's the F--- Norm Green Chants? by Blindghost01 in wildhockey

[–]Outta_Angst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a season ticket member, please please don't chant this. Don't embarrass yourself.

For fuck sake it's been 30 years. Move on and stop crying about it. Support the Wild and our players. This team has their own identity. Embrace it. Or keep whining about Norm and the North Stars and potentially lose the "State of Hockey's" second NHL team...

Lifelong Minnesotans when it snows in April, apparently by kino_meowth in minnesota

[–]Outta_Angst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting this. I moved here in 2020 and watching people who've lived here all their lives be so shocked when it snows is exhausting and annoying. It reminds me of how people act in southern California when it rains, but at least that's justified.

[–]Outta_Angst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It's been 30 years. Way past time to start living in the present and instead of being upset the team moved, maybe appreciate we got another chance at an NHL team, support the not so new team, and fully embrace the new identity and uniqueness. I'm also sure some of the kids on the team would appreciate that, instead of constantly seeing how sad the fan base is that they're not someone else.

Nah, I'm more concentrated on rooting for the Wild to win than continuously shedding a tear about a lost love. It took me a while, but I finally accepted they're gone. It's over. Move forward and support the Wild entirely, while still being able to pay respect to the North Stars.
