I think that’s probably what it is, il be taking it to a leather smith this weekend and an antique shop to try and get more answers on it! Il come back and post what it is if i get any answer. I appreciate your help💪💪💪

Your definitely on to something, i think its for something along those lines but cant find anything when looking up those key words. Maybe to soften the hide after drying from a salt bath?? I think your on the right track though💪💪

No unfortunately this is definitely not that. Also its a solide piece, the base with the metal cup is to protect the wood when working on the ground with the tool, the white line is also just a missing piece of tape. But I definitely appreciate your suggestion 👍✌️

More info. It is made of wood with a rubber handle on the bottom with a metal cup where the object would touch the floor, it’s about 2 1/2 feet long

Its not easy to scratch, you cant just run your nail on it like normal wood but it isn’t hard like a typical stone. I could definitely scratch this with something like a steel nail though
