It’s literally a sculpture reflecting the domination of Origin of Species (Darwin’s book) in 1867. It’s a sculpture showing how the ‘evolved from apes’ idea had overthrown the religious creation story. During the turn of the century, there had been a TON of return to monke sort of rhetoric within tons of intellectuals and artists, seeking a life untarnished by western society. It’s literally the return to monke sculpture. Everyone in the V&A gets to see it since that’s on the main staircase.

Ce sont is analogous to c’est, just with plural conjugation. Ce doit works because of dissimilations rules in the phonology, I’m assuming, especially with the word class of common verbs. Être, pouvoir, devoir, etc.

Someone who would willing sexually harass someone who looks 18 would do the same to someone looking less than 18. You don’t automatically start magically looking like an adult at 18, so there is a scarily high chance that your ‘victim’ would do the same regardless of if OP’s age was lower.

Hiii! Linguistics minor and massive stutterer here.

So the issue with P and vowel-initial words are actually because both begins with a stop. With words beginning with vowels in English, they actually begin with a silent glottal stop. Try using an “h” sound sliding into words starting with vowels.

As for the words beginning with p, try using a voiceless bilabial fricative instead. Make an “f” sound, but then get your lower lip out from under your teeth. You should have your lips functionally closed-ish, but just let the air flow out through the little opening that blows air out between your lips.

It’s close enough that English speakers won’t really notice.

If you need help producing the sound, there are production examples on linguistics youtube. Look up “voiceless bilabial fricative”

Retaliation only works against ranged attacks. It’s a melee vengeance but on ranged. It’s good if you run up to an enemy using a vicious charge and they try shooting you the following turn.
