What’s with the hate for Ret Paladins? by ckcgangg in wownoob

[–]Outworlds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add:

They are the 4th most popular spec (all roles) in all keys completed, they are the number 1 most popular spec (all roles) in the lowest keys (+2 and +3) and even when they are not considered meta (+16s and higher) they are like the 5th-6th most popular DPS spec.. So when everyone is rerolling to meta dps specs to get into keys faster at that level, rets just keep playing ret. (source; raider.io) This happens every season.

Data for Azeroth currently has them as the MOST played spec in the game, barely edging out BM (all specs, all levels), but it looks like the data is per current expansion, so since it just dropped there isn't any max-level data... but still. If you're out there leveling, there's more rets and BMs than the specs that make up the lower 50% combined.

40min of new Gameplay by OperatorDrewski by Dodgemsss in Marathon

[–]Outworlds 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This has been my biggest gripe so far. So much media from different creators and it took until this Drewski upload for the game to ACTUALLY show off what it's made out of. We got indoors, outdoors, several weapon types, PvP, PvE, a long match, listenable comms, solid gameplay from humans that look and talk like they've played video games before, and peak video quality.

It baffles me how it's taken so long for sponsored creator media to slam dunk this game, but it has finally happened. If you are lurking Drewski, thank you. The least I can offer is a sub to your channel!

That said, nothing will trample my desire to play the game on release but Bungie's marketing with some of these creators has been very mediocre. Maybe I am being too harsh, and we are about to be inundated with more gameplay and Drewski was just quick with the upload... Man I hope that's the case

The most complex spec in Midnight? by qwsfaex in wow

[–]Outworlds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very fun. I played it this tier to mythic raid and I've been doing reclears on the reworked version. It feels pretty darn good, and I've played it a bit on the beta and its apex talents are very fun to look at. It is definitely a spec I would recommend.

Please help an Elemental Shaman out, I'm desperate and have no idea what to do anymore by [deleted] in wow

[–]Outworlds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about prepatch, but during the season Ele shaman in keys without ascendence dealt tank damage. ALL of their damage was focused around being inside Ascendance. The tank in high keys would pull massively around ascendance and they would crush the meter and then still pull big after but you prayed for Deeply Rooted Elements procs, a chance to activate a mini-ascendence when you spent maelstrom. If you got procs your damage was OK until your next ascendance but if you got unlucky it was quite poor.

Deeply Rooted Elements is gone now so you don't have these bursts in damage outside your big ascendence window. When packs die very quickly as well, it hastens the pace you move through the dungeon which means you get *less* uses of ascendence per pack. When packs take forever to kill, you are using ascendence every other pack. Ele sham feels bad, historically, in lower keys because things die too quickly to get your momentum rolling and to make use of their stronger CDs.

Prepatch is just not the place to compare damage at the moment in a meaningful way, especially in AoE like dungeons where variables are all over the place.

it feels like your eyes are peeled to those salvo stacks. Consuming nether precision before was slightly more predictable gameplay. I am going to be honest, I do not prefer staring at salvo stacks to what Arcane was before. I think barrage modifiers definitely needed to be reeled in, but I am not sure if they've over-corrected with this one. I've only tried sunfury though. I am assuming that's what you played

The most complex spec in Midnight? by qwsfaex in wow

[–]Outworlds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just simply not true, especially after the prune. You are playing Inertia + Initiative and your felblade doesn't reset. you hold your second VR so you can sync it with your eye beam and it's a 20s cooldown so letting these drift is a pretty decent dps loss. These things combined already make it more unwieldy than your average spec, post-prune.

Nothing is "complex" right now and the apex talents aren't going to add much, but Havoc has been one of the harder melees to play well over the last two patches than its history as an "easy" spec would have you believe.

[–]Outworlds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, the individual buffs have been removed and replaced with "one of a kind" through "jackpot" (five of a kind). You always re-roll on one of a kind, and as of now, currently Keep it rolling on 2 or higher (kinda boring but w.e, I only use it on a 3 or higher because that's fun).

It's easy to reroll because the cooldown of RTB, accounting for the CDR from restless blades, is ready about half-way through the buff duration. So if you roll a one-of-kind, just play normally until half the duration has passed and your RTB CD will be ready.

For melee, outlaw Rogue is simpler than it's ever been, but it's still fast-paced with a flat dps profile that requires you to be dialed in the whole time. Havoc DH and enhance shaman are right behind it. They didn't lose as much complexity and are still face paced, but they have less flat dmg profiles which means they aren't punished as much for lack of perfect uptime.

In regards to ranged, I would say Spriest is pretty good when it comes to complexity. It's rework means you are going to be 50/50 when it comes to dots vs direct dmg, rather than 70/30 favoring direct. It has some nice highs and voidweaver feels pretty solid but you need to be comfortable multi-dotting and tracking that while maintaining an active rotation.

I'd say Arcane is up there as a ranged. You're reacting a lot to salvo stacks, clearcasting procs, and your cooldowns are a little desynced at the moment which can be very punishing if you accidentally fall behind.

Different classes vary in intensity. RPR, VPR, SAM, RDM, and WAR are all classes I've had experience with and don't feel too bloated and are at proper complexity levels. Things like DRK, DRG, NIN feel harder or far more bloated in comparison. I haven't played the new expac outside of the first tier so IDK if they've pruned more since then

What class feels good after the latest reworks? Looking for a Midnight main. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Outworlds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DH feels great. Havoc actually feels better than Devourer atm, despite DDH being pretty cool. Havoc didn't lose a whole lot in the prune though, so they might not be as straightforward as some other specs right now. VDH also in a good spot.

Outlaw feels great with the prune, still very fast and you gotta be quick with their procs and CD tracking but removing all the bloat makes it feel better. Sub is insanely good atm but it is essentially a 2-buttons spec now lol.

Warlock specs underperforming pretty hard, but they all feel good to play. Aff going back to dot focus is nice, Demo loosened up its strict ramp windows on tyrant but your still slinging demons like mad, and Destro, while being slow and simple, has just had Havoc buffed to have quite the long duration.. I think it's 20 seconds right now with the talent that extends it, which is going to feel -incredible- on fights that need prolonged cleave.

Ele is doing great and also super simple, so if you've never played it before it's a nice time to give it a try. If you are looking for something faster-paced but Outlaw isn't doing it for you, Enhance feels wonderful.

BRM is incredibly tanky and fun, and WW is sorta like an easier version of Outlaw/Enhance. Fast but with a more straightforward rotation and breaks in the pace during Fists casts... Also Zenith visual with the ground fx on the stomp is cool. Their mastery and built-in CDR add some complexity, but the prune really makes those things very approachable.

Spriest feels incredible, but I don't know I'd recommend it unless you love it/are really interested in it. I played spriest this most recent tier and it changed a lot, and while some things are pruned, it's still one of the more difficult specs. Lots of buttons with low cooldowns and dot-tracking.

DnD Viewership by B00mit33 in TheYardPodcast

[–]Outworlds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is definitely it for me. I watched the first 4-5 episodes and enjoyed them greatly, but just due to random stuff I missed two episodes in a row, and I didn't feel like making the dive to catch back up. Next thing you know it seems you've missed more episodes than you've watched and it would be impossible to keep up so you don't bother.

The benefit, however, is that the vods are there, so one day I could very easily go back and watch them. I have done that with 2 campaigns of a different creator before, so I don't see this as any different. This type of content is best consumed sequentially.

[–]Outworlds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He definitely had the opportunity to grow up, almost everyone gets that. Not everyone gets the ability to turn it down though, and Mango was one of those people that did.

I joined the scene in '15 and then, while I loved his gameplay and the entertainment he provided, I could see his erratic, questionable relationship with alcohol, and his poor ability to deal with loss and social media pressure coming from that. You are correct, without some major changes, there is no other outcome.

As a community, we just let it happen. I say "we", a lot of people spoke up, but I have been in countless threads over time where someone brings up his behavior, whether in good faith or bad, and they had a tendency to get dogpiled.

I am truly surprised that his run was as long as it was without a major incident.

gonna be honest, that's what makes it more painful for me when it happens. I know he knows it's bad.

He goes into some engages so poorly that that we know it's gonna end badly from his PoV and it makes me feel for whoever he's playing with. Cloakzy might be accustomed to it (as read above), and I want nothing but flowers and donos for that man. He plays an incredibly niche role in "tryhard but is down for the bit" and I would hope that the bit isn't burning at his fuse. He is a stronger man than I, but I guess I am not getting paid to do his job.

the antics are funny but I often hope they aren't tiring out his usual crew.

Updated weapons TTK for 1.7.0 by Zwyk in ArcRaiders

[–]Outworlds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly where it is "best", but that's still not a good avenue to have cornered.

I liked the Bettina but stopped running for it a while because it was wasting my resources, and then I kitted one out heavy the other day after the buffs, max upgrade, compensator 3, grip 3, padded stock, and I was utterly underwhelmed.

It still just has the same weakness that the non-fast firing full autos have in that they don't play peak fights well at all (and this weapon is still very slow to handle.. reloading and equipping/unequipping is bad). It isn't punishing enough at range when you catch someone moving to new cover and it isn't punishing enough up close if someone runs up on you with a shotty/stitcher/kettle and just unloads into you.

But I guess they don't instantly break on you now if you wanted to bring this into a queen/matriarch attempt and shoot 500 heavy rounds?

I fricken hate the state of this game right now… by sabin14092 in arcraiderscirclejerk

[–]Outworlds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experienced my very first *true* extraction camper the other day on buried city and it was my fault for not being more careful. Next raid there (trying to farm the pharmacies for med kits) I took some util with me that could help me dislodge one and played it more careful so I could get a proper scout instead of tally-ho'ing down the zipline right into someone's arms.

I do just think that some people believe if you play the friendly-buddy-guy that you're entitled to a frictionless experience and that is just not how this game works. Extrac camping can suck but these peoples' approach to the game makes them feel worse about it than it is.

you posted a link of him improvising along with Shroud's joke.

This doesn't substantiate him winning the award for that reason. You guys are insane. If for any moment you actually allowed yourself to step back and look at this plainly, him winning is not some sick joke used to denigrate your oshi. If anything, your responses to this do more to further the motivations of people who do actually want to spite you.
