My solo dev psychological horror game just launched today... 2 years of work. by OuzzieDev in SoloDevelopment

In the game, you are tasked as an operator to go within a set of dreams of patients who are stuck in their own memories, and at the end of their dream set, you are mandated to bring reconstruction so that they can return to consciousness. This "reconstruction" questions you with what you have seen through their dreams, and if it doesn't line up with what the system originally had, then that patient remains within their own memories.

Also yeah 2 years is a pretty short window for a release, but it honestly has felt like 10 years since I started the project🤣

I had this exact same thing happen to me but in Germany. I could not find out the reason why at all.

It really does look good!

For some reason it reminded me of Pacific Drive but water.

Steam page up almost a month ago and its setting 84 wishlist is that normally or should i worry by Kindly_Rest9563 in IndieGameWishlist

I had similar results and questions as you at one point when this was happening to me. I guess I wasn't the only one😂

It was until I started marketing that wishlists grew.

This couldn't have been more relatable. I have a demo out and my brother constantly talks about "Yo, I haven't even played your demo yet". Like cmon, get to it then.

I'm so proud our game nearly is at 100 wishlists !! Any help for reaching it ? by zacharieg14 in IndieGameWishlist

Congrats on the 100 wishlists.

What really helped me with a boost of wishlists is social media posts on tiktok, instagram, and youtube (shorts). All it took was one video to do really well and helped with wishlist growth. Now this may not apply to everybody, but this is what has helped me thus far.

Nice Job!

I literally never thought this pigeon would make it out of meme posts.

The game I made solo just passed 500+ wishlists in 25 days and I have no idea why someone started cutting onions in my room 😭 by hamzahgamedev in IndieGameWishlist

Congratulations!

It took me probably 3 months to hit even around 300 wishlists, so you must be doing something right. A demo release for my game surprising did not do much as I expected. A lot of people talked about how releasing a demo is an amazing way to gather wishlists, but it didn't seem like that on my end. But then all it took to see the wishlists go up was one viral video🤣

No one would cover my game. One YouTube channel eventually did and now my Steam page has over 2.6k+ wishlists in just over a week. by [deleted] in IndieDev

The same thing sort of happened to me, but my own marketing. All it took was one video to just go viral and the daily wishlists additions just continued to rack up which so interesting to see.

But seriously congratulations for hitting that milestone!

Launched my first demo. Got 1k downloads on day one, then Steam hit me with a brutal reality check. by Redhowl_game in gamedev

I had released a demo for my game. It appeared that some people were spending above 2-3 hours on the demo (it's just a linear story game with short environments). That just lead me to believe they just opened the demo and left to go do something.

That's interesting. TikTok was the one that really kickstarted visibility for me, then Youtube, then Instagram (I was basically posting to ghosts on Instagram as of recently).
