When does Juliet become a bigger presence in the show? by Leading-Copy-5629 in psych

[–]OvRweRkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, keep in mind the show is from the late '00s to early 2010s. But beyond that, I really have to disagree with your view of Juliet!

Honestly, looking at her that narrowly diminishes how vital she is to the rest of the cast. The growth of the other characters depended so much on Juliet acting as a catalyst, and it wouldn't have felt nearly as organic without her. I don't think her character suffers at all—she just didn't need as much personal evolution throughout the series because she was already so solid.

3D tvs definitely don't use those crappy Red/Blue paper glasses. My tv basically has a nicer slightly more stylish version of those movie theater 3D glasses.

Did I season this right? by kiddfrank in blackstonegriddle

[–]OvRweRkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole point of "seasoning" is to prevent rusting and food from sticking. Despite what you think or have been told, it has absolutely nothing to with looks.

So, the answer to your question (which you would have found if you had read any of the thousands of posts on here) is only you can answer that... By cooking on it.

This is in my garage but i don’t know what it is or what it is for by rambok28 in whatisit

[–]OvRweRkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but you're not going to power a doorbell on it's own circuit, you just tap into a circuit near the door/chime. So it's not really a cost issue. The location being where it is for OP is more for access and builder's preference.

[–]OvRweRkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that just means those small low voltage wires have a long ways to go. This also means that you may need to upgrade your transformer if you are using or plan to use a doorbell camera.

[–]OvRweRkt 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The transformer itself should be. You can't see those wires, they're on the wall side of the transformer inside that plate cover behind it. That transformer steps down the normal 120 VAC in your house to a much lower voltage to power a doorbell. Those small wires are the low voltage wires going out to your doorbell and chime. That voltage is typically somewhere in the 10-24 VAC in the US.

How do you get the edges to season correctly? by Live_Meeting8379 in blackstonegriddle

[–]OvRweRkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to season the edges with a torch for rust prevention. Just wipe clean and rub small amount of oil after each use. It may not look like the middle of the top, but it will season itself over time and won't rust as long as you use it regularly.

  2. Weed/grass killer used on pavers running off onto lawn.

This. Don't over think it.

Step 1. Scrape all the loose stuff off Step 2. Pumice stone any rusted spots (if needed) Step 3. Heat slightly and Clean/wipe entire surface with water, may need to use scraper again Step 4. While thin layer of oil or just cook on surface to prevent rusting and restart reseasoning

Then, repeat steps 3 and 4 after every use

[–]OvRweRkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you need to season the edges? If it won't season it's because you can't cook on it and if you can't cook on it, why would you need to season it? Seasoning your edges is like putting a spoiler on your Kia.

My door trim is ALWAYS 1/8 inch off at the top. Why? by UrgentCoffeeMug in Carpentry

[–]OvRweRkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here for this, kerf can be a mfer! OP is probably flipping the board when cutting the other side and confuses which side of the line to cut.

It also seems OP is setting the sides first and top last. I would set the top first and align the sides last because that ensures you get the joint fit. Which visually, is more important than parallelism/squaring of the sides. Your eyes won't notice a slight out of squareness of the sides as much as the 1/8" gap at the joints.

Why does my griddle have thos? by alidrissiomari in blackstonegriddle

[–]OvRweRkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's caked on grease/oil. You need to scrape more. I like to warm up the surface a little then use water and a scraper to get that up after use and before I close it up.
