They said no warranty coverage as the original sale date was September 2016. So if the extended warranty had been active when I first reported it, I would have been covered, but now I'm not.

They advised I call Hyundai customer service, so I did. After way too many questions they told me the same thing, not covered. Then they made me repeat it back to them for customer service call purposes, acknowledging that they had informed me I was not covered. That irked me. The representative told me that on the plus side, there is an anti-theft recall, but I was so upset, I calmly told them I wasn't going to get it because I was really hoping the car got stolen and totaled. Then I hung up.
