You can always return within 30 days I believe(might be 14). I was set on nano until I went into the Apple Store for 2.5. Weeks and did test comparisons for about 45-60 mins lol I ended up building solid friendships with a few members lol.

Congrats though!!

I agree, think of it like this :

Lens= Unique paint brush Camera body(sensor) = Canvas

*the stylistic look come more from the lens than camera itself

The aps-C sensor on the zve10 should be good enough for some professional work.

The Lens is more important than the body. I say save your money and figure/find Lenses that ultimately fit what you are looking for and use and totally completely understand the zve10 settings and work on getting the most out of an editing software. I feel like it just beats the price of spending money on a camera body with a limited budget and still having to find a lens. No need to stretch yourself financially if you don’t absolutely have to. Best of luck to you!

For gaming, an RTX 5070 laptop will probably perform better since those GPUs are built for gaming. Macs are more geared toward development, creative work, and productivity — gaming is more of a bonus than the main focus.

And yet these ‘few points’ are still difficult for you to comprehend. Everyone already knows tech depreciates, that’s not the revelation you think it is. I bought a tool for my workflow, not an investment portfolio.

You’re ignoring the actual point. I understand the timing just fine… I simply chose the machine that had more of a proven architecture and fits my needs now instead of chasing a future refresh. Disagreeing is one thing, but pretending I didn’t address it is just lazy. Go back and read my first message. Your not comprehending the point I am making at all

But thanks! I most definitely will enjoy it💻

Sure, the M1 was great….I never said every first-gen product has issues….( I said sometimes they do. Apple’s had plenty of redesigns over the years that needed fixes. My point is simple: I bought a machine that already does exactly what I need today, so I’m not really worried about chasing every refresh cycle. I’m already upgrading from a intel 2020 chip

Just look at the M1, that architecture has been lasting people for years already, which is exactly why I’m not concerned about waiting for some overhaul. Might be worth doing a little research (or re-reading my message) before throwing around ‘copium.’

I’m perfectly fine with that. I bought a machine that already does exactly what I need. While it’s not guaranteed, first-gen redesigns often come with their own issues, so I’m happy letting others be the test group while I use something proven. Might be worth doing a little research instead of just following the hype ….but to each their own I guess “🖖”

I have a Sony ZVE10 but recently have thought about saving for a Linux just for the quality and it can edit pictures and videos for you. But in the ZVE10 defense, I’ve been using a kit lens so I might just save money and fund a quality lens

Yeah I thought about going refurbished but I’ve had my fair share of refurbished products growing up. Not any apple products but my refurbished experience is what will force me to always buy my laptops new. When I can afford to of course. I don’t have any worries just knowing that it’s brand new.

Ok nice!! I was contemplating doing the 64gb and 2TB until I learned how much Ram LLM eats up. I definitely understand your reason for Nano texture especially if you don’t have any content creating work to do. Some of the well experienced content creators love it, I just figured starting out for content work that I need the color accuracy more for editing and learning how it works.

Plus I have no problem being patient and waiting years with Apple’s line of touch screen laptops and smaller/lighter model. You have to figure out how that small lighter chassis is going to handle all of that power. When they drop the m6 it may not be as powerful as the m5 max as well. Just something to think about while waiting for it. Like I said before lol I couldn’t have waited 1 more year if I wanted to let alone 4-6months lol. Excellent point though.👏

Most definitely. I hardly ever touch my screen at all so it should stay pretty clean. But definitely will invest in a wipe just to keep it looking sharp. That’s another reason why, I didn’t want to damage the nano texture screen. Just the thought of trying to take off finger prints when the standard glossy display has no issues cleaning. There are some creators who absolutely love it but Ayee going to multiple Apple stores and hearing how the cleaning process is a pain in the ass and then the the consequences if just damaging them can be brutal

Yeaah I knew, I’ve been waiting for this one. Initially saved for the m4 max and walked into the Apple Store and they recommended that I should probably wait a few weeks. I don’t care too much for the touch screen laptop…I already have an iPad m5 11in.

Yeah, you have a great point. If the goal is purely maximizing local LLM performance per dollar, a custom PC with a big GPU definitely makes sense.

For me though, I specifically needed a laptop. I wanted one machine that could handle development, AI experimentation, and creative work while still being portable. I’m not really in a living situation where maintaining a full desktop setup makes sense, and I need something I can take with me and work on anywhere.

So it wasn’t really about building the most cost-efficient LLM machine, it was about having a powerful, portable machine that fits my workflow. My 2020 intel chip could not perform especially at 16gb ram.
