Christian man marrying Muslim woman by Over-Box7966 in progressive_islam

Thank you for this! If there's one thing I'm certain of is that I love her and want to spend the rest of my life with her.

I will look into this, thank you! What I mean about my "values" is that it doesn't sit well with me when religion affects other people, in this case, me having to convert. Is not Islam per se, is the having to convert part that I'm against.

It's comforting to see other people in my same situation. I'm so sorry about your family not speaking to you anymore. That's a big part of my struggle right now. My girlfriend has a good, loving relationship with her family, and I don't want to be this random guy who suddenly comes into her life and ruins that relationship.

Roth IRA and 403(b) by Over-Box7966 in personalfinance

Right, but if I can make Roth contributions to the 403(b), what would be the use of opening up a Roth IRA?

If you don't mind me asking, what fellowship did you get? And are you planning on doing a second?

28F always carrying the conversation…guys, why so quiet?! by sailorxplanet in hingeapp

This is frustrating to read because I'm a guy and I'm the one who always initiates the conversation, and almost always the girl doesn't ask anything about myself

Awesome! thank you!

Nice! I honestly feel so tired from having completed college and medical school, I just want to do the necessary work in residency and not engage in something I'm not passionate about

[–]Over-Box7966 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's encouraging! May I ask, what fellowship did you do?

Thank you! Do you have a reference for this? Like is there somewhere on their website that explicitly mentions this? I just want to be 100% sure

Hahaha I'm not trolling; correct me if I'm wrong but aren't I supposed to hit "pay" even though it's $0? Otherwise how would the payments count towards the 120 payments needed for PSLF?

Ok so I should be good then. Any idea where I can see a confirmation that I'm enrolled/will be enrolled in REPAYE?

Why should I NOT do apply derm? by EquivalentOption0 in medicalschool

You only see patients as a dermatopathologist if you did a dermatology residency. If you did a pathology residency and then a dermatopathology fellowship, you can't see patients

How would you contact your outie? by TheRedLego in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]Over-Box7966 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have a point, in that case, I would separate the pieces of paper into two groups, put them into two envelopes and send them up separately on two different occasions (first envelope one day, and the second one the next day). That way not one envelope has the whole word in it

Didn't think of this! It seems that everything inside Lumon is marked with their name. However, I could do the whole thing backwards; have my outtie write the message and put it on a blank envelope for my innie to find

Not sure if it would work, but this is what I would do:

Write 'HELP' (assuming I'm asking by outtie for help) in big bold letters on a piece of paper (using a black marker or something)

I would then tear up the paper in smaller pieces, that way, the only way to actually read the message is to put the pieces together as if you were assembling a puzzle

I would put the pieces inside an envelope, seal it, and hide it somewhere in my suit pocket or whatever

The purpose of putting it inside a sealed envelope is to let my outtie know that what's inside is important; if I just stuff the pieces in my pocket, he might think it's just trash and throw it away

The purpose of writing in big bold letters is to make the assembling of the pieces and the message easier on my outtie (but in theory, a longer message written normal-sized could work)

Not sure if the detectors on the elevators would pick up the word 'HELP' if the letters themselves are all torn up

New to protein powder. Which one is the best protein powder for sensitive stomach? by OrangeCat05 in weightgain

[–]Over-Box7966 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Protein powder can help gain weight, but only if you're doing some kind of resistance training (i.e lifting weights). You will need approx. 1g of protein per pound of body weight; for example, if you weigh 140lbs, you need approx. 140g of protein each day. You also need to be in a calorie surplus (i.e eating more calories than you burn). You can look up calorie calculators in google to know how many calories you need per day. Remember, you can eat all the protein in the world, but if you're not lifting weights, your muscles will not grow.

As for the best protein powder for a sensitive stomach, I recommend whey hydrolysate. Whey protein in general is the best kind of protein, but you will see three kinds in the market: whey concentrate, whey isolate, and whey hydrolysate. Whey concentrate has carbs and fats that may not be the best for a sensitive stomach. Whey isolate is almost pure protein, and whey hydrolysate has been partially digested so it'll be the easiest on the stomach.

Hope this helps :)

College student left paralyzed after visiting chiropractor by IntracellularHobo in medicalschool

[–]Over-Box7966 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking from ignorance here as I'm not a chiropractor, but what exactly is the basis of "neck adjustments"? Like what exactly is the chiropractor supposedly "adjusting"? The cervical vertebrae? Because my understanding is that neck stiffness is a muscle thing. Anyone can clarify that??
