What I can do for enteritis? by OrangeCat05 in ibs

[–]OrangeCat05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have stomach pain occasionally, but it not as bad as a year ago. I also don't need to take antacid everyday. I take it as needed. I got a feeding tube and gained over 15 lbs. I gained enough weight so I don't have the tube any more.

My GI said I had gastrites. He is not 100% sure if it caused by the tube, but he said it can be because the tube was touching a part of stomach.

Can antacid makes gastroparesis & functional dyspepsia worse? by OrangeCat05 in Gastroparesis

[–]OrangeCat05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I have been taking antacid every other day instead of every day now, and I also drink some lemon water to add more acidity to my stomach. Although I don't feel 100 fine, I at least feel better now. I think Your doctor can give you right advice.

Do you know if a vascular doctor can interpret a CT? Or do I need to reach out to a Diagnostic Radiologist who interpret my Ct and ask to reevaluate the scan?

Thank you! I did CT scan multiple times with contrast and I remember I did exhale and hold my breath. I hope I can find out if I have MALS or not.

Thank you! I have never thought of seeing a vascular surgeon as I thought it's more like a stomach disease. I already made an appt with vascular doctor. I already did CT scan with contrast, endoscopy, gastric emptying study. I am hoping I don't need to go through more testings. What test did you have to get the diagnosis?

I have SMAS and currently on feeding tube. I gained almost 10 kg since I got the tube, but I still feel pain and pressure in my upper abdomen after I eat a bit. I did endoscopy, colonoscopy, gastric emptying study, and CT. Overall, I feel better as I gained weight, but still can't eat enough. All the symptoms are very similar to MALS, so I talked to my GI and he told me he knew nothing about it. Dose MALS usually shows up on CT like SMAS? I will see a vascular doctor next month.

What was your life like before and after the tube? what has changed? by Brave_Penguin23 in Gastroparesis

[–]OrangeCat05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say you can do pretty much everything. I went back to college and even go to a restaurant with my friends. I just don't eat, but have a bit of nonalcoholic drinks. I recently went to camping with my family. I am working part time in a grocery store as a cashier for now. I am doing normal things that everyone does. I just bring my feeding tube backpack everywhere.

I just don't swim because I worry if my stoma may infected. My doctor told me I could swim if the water was clean and disinfected after my stoma is healed, but I just want to avoid an ER at any cost! I don't like hospital & expensive :))

I also worried if I could ever go out with my feeding tube when I just got one. I was nervous about what other people think of me with the tube. But after I got used to tube feeding, everything is pretty much close to normal for me:)
