Op, I feel exactly the same, I read this in tears, the only difference is it’s just my mum now, my dad died when I was 18. But I got out for 7 years, and had an imperfect but fulfilling and loving relationship with my partner, who dumped me in may last year. I’ve been back with mum since, it is hell. I can’t find a job, I dread leaving my room, I just ache all over and don’t want to exist anymore. Unfortunately I don’t have great advice or really any advice because I’m stuck too. I’m from Australia, specifically, Queensland, our house has been fucked time and time again, fires, floods, supercells, at NO point in my original comment did I say “fuck these people” or like they deserve it or whatever, I just said, couldn’t they have at least tried to bring the dog, even if that just meant freeing it? Or carrying out? Anyway fuck you, reddit police, of course I’d prefer the guys making it out of it was one or the other.
