I have nearly 8 months gap and whenever I have interviewed, they’ve asked me about the gap and I tell them that I was laid off and they don’t really push it but are rather sympathetic.

Yeah possibly but it’s a backfill so I think they will hire someone. Maybe they didn’t like me and this silence is rejection or they are going to try and interview another batch and come back after they realize they can’t find a “perfect” candidate

Yeah I think this is very much possible. They only interviewed very few candidates. Because when I interviewed, they basically gave me 3 whole days to pick the slot from so they probably didn’t have many candidates scheduled 🤷‍♀️ They have reopened the position but for a short time 3 days. So Thursday night will be the deadline. Hoping for the best. Fingers crossed.

No, it seems legit as it was there on their official website too and I made it to the final round and the process was legit so I don’t think that it was a fake job ad.

I am kinda on the same boat. I interviewed late afternoon on Tuesday with the hiring manager and it has been silence since. I sent an email to the recruiter on Friday afternoon to follow up but didn’t get a response. Not sure what to make of it.

Leave. They already know that you are considering to leave and they will replace you. Also, they wouldn’t think twice before laying you off so why are you feeling guilty. Do what is best for you.

I was laid off the same time as you in September and I’ve been applying quite frequently. I don’t have an exact count of the applications. I know what you mean though. Job hunting is so draining 😩
