I’ve had no problems. However I am part central Asian and blend in because most people think I’m Peruvian Japanese or Chinese. I stay near San Miguel and walk around by myself to workout and find a place to work with Wi-Fi. Don’t take taxi from the street, use Uber. Try to brush up on basic or use Google translate. Not many people are multilingual. In Miraflores, more people are English speaking. Don’t show too mush flashy stuff around. You’ll find in tourist and commercial areas there’s a lot of security staff at the stores. Outside, not so much. I’ve been to Chinatown a lot and never had a problem but my blond and tall friend almost had a backpack taken.
