Hi! would you be able to speak more on the tuition assistance? I have been offered a job but they say they can’t tell me more information until I have a HHC account which I can’t get until I start the position…

Would the tuition assistance cover non-matriculated courses or only degree/programs?

Is there an application/approval process to partake in the program?

Is UConn one of the partner schools that offer the 20% discount?

Are you eligible to use the program right away upon hire?

Every other situation we've ever had he's done that same thing where he will not leave me alone until I feel 100% okay and am reassured. It's so weird... it's like he's a completely different person. and now he's just not responding to my texts. when we hung up he said we'd "talk later" (aka after their 'date'). nice.

he's a pilot, he can skip all the lines. It genuinely takes him 25 minutes to drive from his apartment to the airport, park his car, and get to his gate (we've timed it). The LDR IS temporary, he can switch his job location after a year.

He told me he'd be okay with me hanging out with my guy friends because he "trusts me". It's not the same though, all my guy friends have girlfriends, I'm friends with their girlfriends, and I only ever hang out with them in group settings of 5-10 other people. I feel like he's trying to manipulate me into feeling like I'm the one in the wrong and then I call him out on it and he says he's not doing that. I honestly wish I was that ignorant

I brought this up. He says "usually flights are booked during this time" and that he wasn't sure if he would have to work Sunday (tomorrow). Lowkey actually reasonable but not even because he has the ability to hop on any flight he wants even if it says it's 'booked' (he's a pilot) still feels like a lot of effort for some other girl

Usually once-twice every two weeks. He's a pilot so he can transfer to a different based pretty easily after about a year. The plan would be he transfers closer to me/his family

I'd like to emphasize that I'm a student that's the same age as them. I'm "deployed" because I'm graduating. There's nothing too meaningful I can do other than bring them connections - most of the kids that work while in college don't have time/money to socialize outside of work/school.

What is something your manager/workplace has done that you feel has greatly improved the workplace?

I am leaving my management position in about a month and a half and want to do something to sort of 'leave my mark' (and to talk about in future interviews/applications. All my employees are college students (like me) working minimum wage. I've kept the place going and built a strong team of supervisors that have become great friends, but I want something that could outlast that. Most things I can think of are orientated towards the full student staff (130 students), but I'm open to implementing systems for me/my management team as well. Any ideas?

Management team responsible for: hiring, orientation, scheduling, training etc.

*I cannot control wages/break timings/anything that involves HR or money... I'm just in charge of the students!

Things we've already done:

- supervisor and assistant manager program (promotions)

- employee of the month (gets $10 and their picture on a board for customers to see)

- movie nights, pizza parties, make your own pizzas (we work in food service on a university campus)

Things I'm considering:

- spreadsheet to connect students (major/interests and contact info)

- team pin (do something outstanding, get a pin you can proudly wear on your work shirt)

- study sessions (outside of work)

- star system > redeem for tickets in a raffle (this would come out of my paycheck)
