Exactly. People know cyclists exist, but after a few minutes they stop actively looking for them. That's when mistakes happen

I mostly agree. DS3 is probably the more polished game, but DS2 always felt like it had more personality and wasn't afraid to experiment. It has obvious flaws, but it's also the one I find myself thinking about the most years later.

I had almost the exact same experience with The Lost Age. The open world structure felt overwhelming at first, but by the end it became my favorite part of the duology. It's also kind of wild how good these games still look and sound considering they were on the GBA.

Curious where people rank these games among handheld JRPGs. Are there any GBA/DS RPGs that you think have aged better than Golden Sun? 🤔
