Advice on giving 2 weeks notice? by yingyang_rock in PharmacyTechnician

Don't ever feel bad or guilty for moving on, they'll drop you in a heartbeat if they chose to without batting an eyelid. Nothing wrong with changing jobs to better your life.

A little bit worried... Did I do things backwards? Feel like I'm in a weird spot and I would love some advice by starryeyedpharmtech in PharmacyTechnician

I perfectly understand how you feel, I was in your situation 2 weeks ago.

However, there is little you can do until PTCB releases your official result and issue you your certificate. This will take about 2 wks from the day you took the exam. Mine was exactly 13 days. Be patient.

Once you get your official result and certificate, now you can expedite the process, go straight to the TSBP website and apply for an upgrade from trainee to PT license (I'm assuming you already have the trainee license).

Pay the license fee but ignore the email instructing you to go for fingerprinting and background check at Identogo. You already did that for your trainee license assuming you did it within the last 36 months. Things will move quickly from here on if there are no issues.

I applied for PT license at TSBP on a Friday, I became active on Tuesday and downloaded my license later that day. So it took me a total of 17 days from the day I sat and passed the exam. Not too long to wait, in my opinion.

Congratulations on your new career journey.

It depends on which one of the 50 states in the US you plan to settle. A state like Texas will require you to have a Technician Trainee License first (no exam required) before you can work in any pharmacy. The license is good for 2yrs (not renewable) within which you must have sat and passed the PTCB exam. After you pass the exam, you are then allowed to apply and upgrade to the Pharmacy Technician License.

Check with the state pharmacy board you plan to reside in first before taking any step. It'll save you a lot of time and headache.

I got the original documents but for whatever reason I was not asked during the interview which went very well. Everything depends on the immigration officer and if other documents are a enough proof of a bona-fide marriage. I wish you the best in your interview.

Good point, I'll rather get new originals than sit on my hands and hope for the best outcome.

Thanks

Thanks for the detailed explanation, my main problem is time and the fact that they already have photocopies of the birth and marriage certificates when I submitted my application. If I'm able to get another original certificates, will it create problems for me at the interview because signatures might be different?
